I’m back to blogging!

Hello again! It’s been so long since I wrote a blog post, my last one seems so long ago! I took a break because I started my final year at university and I wanted to put in more effort than the previous two years and plus I was starting my dissertation and that takes up a lot of time, but I am back to blogging. I missed it a lot and missed the community too so I thought I’d slightly update my blog and then post my first new post of 2015 and since I broke from blogging last year.

Well I’m glad I am back and I hope that you will stick around to read the upcoming posts! 🙂

Film fanatic? 5 old-ish films that I love…

I thought I would do a miniature movie post but not on current movies, instead I thought I would tackle good movies that were released ages ago or what feels like ages ago! I love movies, going to the cinema and just snuggling up watching a film, in my opinion I would say I am quite a film person purely because I watch a lot of movies all the time new and old and I love itttt!

So in this post I thought I would name a few movies that I have enjoyed in the past and I hope you’ll agree on some of them so let’s go…

  • Titanic – Oh this movie gets me every time and I end up crying about something, mainly the scene where the old couple are on the bed when all the water is rushing in – total sadness! This is on the list as well because I don’t know one person who hasn’t watched it, it has all the elements of a good movie and further to this it’s a classic!

  • Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion – One of my all time favourites! I love it because it’s so incredibly cringey and funny and the songs in it make me happy haha

  • Napoleon Dynamite – You either love it, hate it or haven’t ever watched it! (In that case get watching!) but I love this film purely because it makes me laugh no matter how many times I’ve already watched it.

  • Clueless – I never knew this film even existed until one day when I was in my early teens my mum bought me home the DVD and I thought it was going to be awful but it actually wasn’t it was the opposite!

(I do not own – Source)
  • Jurassic Park – One of my beloved childhood films, I can still remember pretty much most of the film by memory but it’s one of my favourites!

Well I hope you liked my mini movie post and it bought back some memories! Tell me which are your favourites as well and let me know 🙂

Day 3 – 5 things I dislike

So in this little post it is day 3 so I will be discussing 5 things that I dislike, I’ll make it short and sweet and to the point! 🙂

1. Liars – What’s the point in lying, you only have to remember all the lies you’ve told and eventually liars always get caught out, plus it’s not healthy.

2. Tuna – Just yuck. It smells, it’s a fish and it looks unappetizing.

3. Bugs in my room at night when I’m trying to sleep cause they might crawl on me 😦

4. Eating healthy and then having a moment of weakness eat lots of rubbish and then feel bad afterwards.

5. When I do my make up and I have to sneeze or itch my eye 😦

So that’s 5 little things I dislike, there’s probably more but that’ll do for now! Tomorrow is day 4 which is what’s in my bag! giphy (1)

Day 2 – My last holiday destination!

So day two of my little blog challenge I made was to describe the last holiday I went on! I love talking about holidays as much as I love going on them and I also love to read other bloggers describe their holidays as well so I thought this would be a good one to add to the challenge when I was thinking it up. So without further ado…

My last holiday destination was: Gran Canaria!

So lets start with the basics – where is it? if you didn’t already know then Gran Canaria is part of the canary islands which is a little off the coast of north west Africa but the island themselves are apart of Spain. So what was is like? Well it was like paradise! The weather when we got their was surprisingly lovely for January, we only had rain I think one night for the whole week we were there and the rest of the time it was hot but there was also a constant breeze which made it bearable.

It took a while to get to Gran Canaria by plane approx I think 4 hours and 30 minutes (it isn’t the longest flight I’ve ever been on but it was still tough!) I get unsettled and then I have to move around but I generally do enjoy flights, on the flight as well I was quite anxious because it was the first holiday we had booked all alone, done ourselves and paid for and it was just going to be the two of us in a different country so I was a bit anxious! but luckily all went to plan smoothly and once we arrived it was night time there, we got off the plane and found out coach to go to the resort and off we went.

Booking into our resort was easy enough, we got our room card and got told all the essentials and we went to find our room in the night time darkness with all the other holiday makers following suit. Like I said it was dark so we didn’t see much of the resort that night for obvious reasons but in the morning we were just blown away by how beautiful it was and how comfortable we felt there – Plus we had a random cute kitten outside our apartment every night which was adorable!

We went all inclusive so we got breakfast, lunch and dinner and late night snacks and drinks all included which was lovely. Every night after dinner we tended to go watch the entertainment for the night and have a few drinks and such which was lovely and then throughout the week we did some other little exciting bits like finding the beach, exploring the city, playing mini golf and eating at a panorama sea view restaurant and seeing the famous sand dunes!

But that was mine and my partner’s last holiday all wrapped up for you, I hope you enjoyed it! I thought I would wrap it up now because I could just go on forever 🙂

So I hope you’ll be around for tomorrows post on day 3 which is 5 things I dislike!

Day 1 – 10 Facts about me!

So I started my little blog challenge a few days later than I originally planned but let’s get a move on now it’s started! So day 1 was 10 facts about myself to share with you all. I’ve done a few of these before so apologies if you’ve already read a fact or two I’ve put before 🙂

  1. I have a double jointed thumb. I happen to think it’s pretty cool, I always used this to my advantage playing thumb wars!
  2. In less than a years time I will be graduating!
  3. I like to put my make up on in the morning, wash my hair and paint my nails. I know some people hate these tasks but I love them!
  4. I think I’m allergic to peel off face masks. This could of course be fact but also maybe just me assuming, as I’m not sure… (my skin starts burning, gets red and irritated and then stings when I use them so who knows!)
  5. Sometimes I get overly worried and panicky.
  6. Sometimes I am confident in myself, others times not so much.
  7. I love Lasagna and cheese more than I should.
  8. I have irrational fear of seals, killer whales and crocodiles.
  9. I love sharks, they’re my fav!
  10. I love going on holiday. (But doesn’t everyone!)

So that’s my little list of facts about me and I hope you liked it, tomorrow will be day 2 which is describing the last place I went on holiday so stick around! 🙂

15 Day Blog Challenge!

So it’s been a little while since I last blogged and the last post I had was an opinion based poll to find out which posts are most interesting to all you lovely followers and also which subjects I should post more often on! I thought that I would make a little 15 day blog challenge for my blog because I prefer to make my own and I quite enjoy being creative with it anyway. The main reason I did only 15 days is down to the fact that when I made my 30 day photo challenge I found it immensely hard to post everyday on time and dropped behind now and then cause I just got busy with coursework etc. So I am hoping this one will go better! 🙂 (Fingers crossed!)

You can join in or use this photo for your own blog if you wish just let me know! 🙂 I shall be starting tomorrow! x

A slightly vast collection of beauty products!

Hi everyone!

So in this post I thought that I would cover a few recent items I have bought over the last few weeks and haven’t had chance to review yet, so with this in mind I thought I would squish a few in one post to make it more digestible! 🙂

Bioré Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser –

This was a good buy although rather pricey for a cleanser in my opinion as I tend to go for cheaper ones and I think this was like £4-5, although I am super happy with it because it does clean my face well and leaves it fresh and doesn’t dry it out. As for the blemish fighting/complexion clearing side to it, I believe this actually has worked! I have noticed my skin has been a lot better recently after using this for just over a week or so. This is also my first Bioré experience and product as I haven’t ever bought anything from the range before but I can say I will be certainly looking for other products within the range to use after this one!

Good Things Manuka Honey Daily Moisturiser Youth Protect –

This little moisturiser was a impulse buy from boots, it contains royal jelly and bee venom apparently and is free from parabens, sodium laureth sulphate and mineral oils. I primarily bought it because I needed a new moisturiser and I had products before that have contained bee venom and they’ve been really wonderful so I thought this would be the same and it is. It smells like a bit pot of honey and milk and leaves my skin feeling really soft and fresh, which is great!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum –

So this was probably one of the most pricey things I have bought, I have been looking for a serum for a long time that works really well and is effective however in today’s market mostly all serums are above £10 at least which is a little bit of pain considering most of them come in tiny tubs or tubes! However I really like this serum, you only need a little tiny bit in my opinion to cover the whole face generously and it smells like fruit as well which is a bonus. This and the Bioré face cleanser could be the reason my skin is looking so much better recently because before using these two products my skin looked and felt dry and dull but now I can safely say it is spot free (touch-wood no jinxing!) and soft. Again I’ve never used any of the Nip + Fab products but they’re definitely something I am going to look into long term.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Moisturising Lotion –

I already mentioned one moisturiser however I bought this one when I realised my other moisturisers haven’t got any sun protection in! I have been going jogging a lot lately and the sun has made its return, so I thought that it was best to maybe get a moisturiser with some protection in it and this one has UVA & UVB protection of all skins types and it was mega cheap so win win!

The Teen Vogue Handbook?

Aspiring to work in fashion? then this is the book for you! I found it by chance when I was scouring through Amazon and I came across this little gem when I was searching for some fashion based books and I am super glad I brought it. I have been looking for quite some time for a book that informs me of all the careers in the fashion industry, a book that had a wide burst of knowledge and contained information that would help me and I eventually found ‘The Teen Vogue Handbook’.

It was published a while ago (a few years back I think) but it has a lot of information in it from advice tailored for people wanting to be stylists to designers to editors from all the biggest names in the fashion world and it has so much to give an aspiring fashion industry lover like myself, hence why I am writing a mini review on it now because it’s rather a good book and cheap too from amazon! 🙂

Uni, fashion journalism & blogging!

Hello, Bonjour, Konnichiwa, nǐ hǎo, Guten Tag, Hallo!

So I have been gone a long time and haven’t posted in a while, however I am back and I am hoping that this summer I will get time to blog quite a bit so fingers crossed! Since I haven’t blogged in a while, I think you all deserve a reasonable explanation and that is because last month I had an incredibly difficult amount of university work due in the same week and it meant a lot of hours staying up till the morning, barely eating and being overly tired 😦 Luckily however now I have finished my university work and my second year at university and I am home for summer!

Before I broke up for summer I was planning on doing quite a lot of things this year and I am still hoping to do them at some point like first aid and learning to drive but something which I have been thinking about more lately is my old dream of becoming a fashion journalist. For those of you who were with me from the beginning, you’ll remember I wanted to be a fashion journalist and I put all my time and effort into juggling my university work and writing for various magazines, in total I wrote over 30 articles published both online and in print format so that was successful for me however eventually it all got a bit much and I couldn’t juggle the two much longer, so I gave up writing for magazines and at this point I was writing for at least 6 or 7 different upcoming or amateur magazines so it was a lot to give up after working so hard on it but it had to be done. After a long long long break of not writing, lately I have been looking into getting back into the fashion world! I want to write articles again, so I went and started writing for some of the ones I use to write for but now I am looking into other areas of fashion as well which might be interesting like photography and styling (I don’t know if I’d be any good but that’s why you learn and try!).

I’m not completely sure which direction I want to go into for my future career but there is three different industries I am thinking about which is fashion, teaching or health care and I have routes planned for all of them – so we will all have to wait and see what next year holds 🙂

Other than that, I’ve been worrying a lot about various things like finances and health, but I am still smiling so that’s good! 🙂

Well I hope you’re all well and I am back now!
