Day 3 – 5 things I dislike

So in this little post it is day 3 so I will be discussing 5 things that I dislike, I’ll make it short and sweet and to the point! 🙂

1. Liars – What’s the point in lying, you only have to remember all the lies you’ve told and eventually liars always get caught out, plus it’s not healthy.

2. Tuna – Just yuck. It smells, it’s a fish and it looks unappetizing.

3. Bugs in my room at night when I’m trying to sleep cause they might crawl on me 😦

4. Eating healthy and then having a moment of weakness eat lots of rubbish and then feel bad afterwards.

5. When I do my make up and I have to sneeze or itch my eye 😦

So that’s 5 little things I dislike, there’s probably more but that’ll do for now! Tomorrow is day 4 which is what’s in my bag! giphy (1)

The Teen Vogue Handbook?

Aspiring to work in fashion? then this is the book for you! I found it by chance when I was scouring through Amazon and I came across this little gem when I was searching for some fashion based books and I am super glad I brought it. I have been looking for quite some time for a book that informs me of all the careers in the fashion industry, a book that had a wide burst of knowledge and contained information that would help me and I eventually found ‘The Teen Vogue Handbook’.

It was published a while ago (a few years back I think) but it has a lot of information in it from advice tailored for people wanting to be stylists to designers to editors from all the biggest names in the fashion world and it has so much to give an aspiring fashion industry lover like myself, hence why I am writing a mini review on it now because it’s rather a good book and cheap too from amazon! 🙂

Let me know if you’re thinking of a career in fashion as well! 🙂

Uni, fashion journalism & blogging!

Hello, Bonjour, Konnichiwa, nǐ hǎo, Guten Tag, Hallo!

So I have been gone a long time and haven’t posted in a while, however I am back and I am hoping that this summer I will get time to blog quite a bit so fingers crossed! Since I haven’t blogged in a while, I think you all deserve a reasonable explanation and that is because last month I had an incredibly difficult amount of university work due in the same week and it meant a lot of hours staying up till the morning, barely eating and being overly tired 😦 Luckily however now I have finished my university work and my second year at university and I am home for summer!

Before I broke up for summer I was planning on doing quite a lot of things this year and I am still hoping to do them at some point like first aid and learning to drive but something which I have been thinking about more lately is my old dream of becoming a fashion journalist. For those of you who were with me from the beginning, you’ll remember I wanted to be a fashion journalist and I put all my time and effort into juggling my university work and writing for various magazines, in total I wrote over 30 articles published both online and in print format so that was successful for me however eventually it all got a bit much and I couldn’t juggle the two much longer, so I gave up writing for magazines and at this point I was writing for at least 6 or 7 different upcoming or amateur magazines so it was a lot to give up after working so hard on it but it had to be done. After a long long long break of not writing, lately I have been looking into getting back into the fashion world! I want to write articles again, so I went and started writing for some of the ones I use to write for but now I am looking into other areas of fashion as well which might be interesting like photography and styling (I don’t know if I’d be any good but that’s why you learn and try!).

I’m not completely sure which direction I want to go into for my future career but there is three different industries I am thinking about which is fashion, teaching or health care and I have routes planned for all of them – so we will all have to wait and see what next year holds 🙂

Other than that, I’ve been worrying a lot about various things like finances and health, but I am still smiling so that’s good! 🙂

Well I hope you’re all well and I am back now!

6 things I wont miss about university this summer

Okay so we are all excited that summer is upon us right? We are all hoping it’s going to be a ‘hot’ summer, but what us lot in England tend to strive for is a little bit of sunshine that lasts at least longer than an hour! We don’t often get amazing weather in England and when we do it’s sun glasses and ice creams all round and it usually only lasts for one day but oh well! So if you’re a student like me you’ll be coming close to ending your first/second or maybe even third year in university and looking so forward to the summer ahead, am I right? On that note, I thought I would do a post on 5 things I wont miss about university this summer when I’m at home! 🙂

  1. Getting up at 9am for a lecture or seminar and being to tired to even open my eyes.

  2. Not having any food in the house and mentally making note of the edible items I wish I had in my fridge or cupboards.

  3. The mountains of coursework, assignments and deadlines!

  4. Carrying tons of library books home from the library.

  5. Having to decide between buying toilet roll or chocolate when I only have enough left for one option. (Don’t worry it’ll always be the toilet roll! haha)

  6. Trying to get on an already overcrowded bus to get to uni on time and hoping I won’t be the one the driver leaves behind because the bus is to it’s maximum capacity.

Well I hope you all liked that or could relate! If you did then make sure to like or comment so I know you dropped by! 🙂

Over 500 followers!

So I wanted to do a little post to say a BIG BIG thank you to all my followers! I just spent the last couple of minutes adding up my followers on Bloglovin & WordPress and I now have over 500 followers which is brilliant because I never assumed my blog would get this far, so it’s lovely to know there are people out there who love to read what I have to say or like what I just babble on about!

I started my blog just over a year ago now as my blog hit it’s 1st birthday at the end of March and I am so happy that I took the plunge to start blogging because it really is something I enjoy. I was never sure on whether to start blogging as I am a very shy person and pretty much as introverted as an introvert can get! But blogging has helped me in many ways and I have met some wonderful bloggers along the way 🙂

I shall be doing a giveaway towards the end of the month (April) and I hope that you’ll all be interested in taking part! It’ll be my very first giveaway and I am hoping to make it really cool so stay tuned.

Once again thank you to all my lovely followers! 🙂

Sleeping beauty – Nightly Regime!

Sleeping beauty I am not, however I’d love to be! (not the sleeping forever part though, forget that!)

Every night I follow pretty much a small simple routine using some of my favourite products and I thought I would give you a little insight!

So let’s start with my skin, well luckily all through my teenage life I never really had spots and I rarely ever got them, then BAM! all my luck was gone and little mountains of grossness popped up on my face every so often and got me all stressed! (Still happens now but less often luckily…) well anyway I have tried ENDLESS and I mean ENDLESS products, probably wasted so much money and effort on using things that pledged to me that it would make my skin ravishing again sadly to no prevail.

So it’s very rare I come across any products and I’m like “wow it actually works!?” but these little bits I’m about to show you have gained a place of honour on my blog due to actually making a difference to my skin. So let’s get started…

Clean and Clear Advantage Fast Action Daily Wash
Freederm Fast track spot gel
Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream
Tri-Peptox Collagen Overnight Recharge Cream

The daily wash leaves my face feeling fresh and cleaner, the freederm gel is my go to spot saviour and the Manuka honey rescue cream and collagen overnight cream are both so amazing at making my face soft and revitalized!

Is there anything you’d suggest or have I mentioned something you’ve used to? Comment/tweet/follow on bloglovin! 🙂

The 90’s Kid Tag! The glorious year of 1993…

So I was looking at some other lovely bloggers blogs and I came across a 90’s kid tag on Lauren’s blog! If you’d love to take a look or go to her blog then you can check it out here – http://keepcalmitsonlyablog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/blast-from-past-calling-all-90s-kids.html

I was born in 1993 so I thought that I would give this a shot because it seemed cute and it’s always nice to be nostalgic now and then! So let’s get started…

1. Favourite Disney film?
The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and probably Snow White. (On the topic of films however, I did watch one with my dad when I was little called ‘The 10th Kingdom’ and it was one of my favourites for a while although it’s not Disney I thought I’d throw that in)

2. NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?
Neither personally, however my sister loved to listen to Backstreet Boys constantly.

3. Favourite candy/sweets?
I liked ring pops, nothing was more glamorous than them!

4. Weirdest fashion trend?
I spent most my childhood happily dressing in camouflage clothing as I loved it! (Bearing in mind I am the daughter of a ex-soldier) and I also remember I had a two piece set, which was long trousers and a crop top in a bright yellow colour (Hahaha!) But I also had a pair of silver glittery jelly heels!
5. Favourite music artist/band?
Spice Girls and S Club 7 for sure! (Personally my favourite song by S Club 7 was reach for the stars! hahah)
6. Favourite game? (board game, playground)
I had a favourite playground game, I can’t remember the name now but it was something to do with oranges!
7. What would you watch on TV after school & Favourite TV shows?
Art Attack,Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hey Arnold, Arthur, Rupert, Little Bear,The Queen’s Nose, Rosie and Jim, Bill and Ben just to name a few!
8. Favourite book?
I read mostly Saddle Club, Roald Dahl and Jacqueline Wilson books. Although I did have a lot of pet related books because I would always nag my parents for an animal, any animal and in this desire I would end up buying lots of animal care related books.
9. Favourite clothing store?
I can’t remember!
10. 90’s beauty memories?
Bright blue & green eye shadow, roll on body glitter, crimped hair and hair braids. I also liked to get the children’s make up from the supermarkets, you know the kind that were in the toy area and smelled like plastic but were in ravishing shades of dark pinks and purples!
11. Favourite McDonalds happy meal toy?
I can’t really remember the toys I got from McDonalds back then sadly but I do remember going to McDonalds with one of my older sister’s and her friends.

12. Favourite toy?
I collected tons and tons of Pokemon stuff, cards, toys everything you name it. I also loved barbies, I had a mermaid one that when you put her tail in water it changed different colours! I also had a Tamogotchi a little baby pink one in the shape of an egg 🙂
So that’s my 90’s kid tag and if you were born in the 90’s why don’t you give it a go as well? Comment and let me know 🙂

Hello, Bonjour, Konnichiwa, Hola! March/April Catch Up

Image

So for this little post I thought that I would sum up the beginning of this month & last month in a little collage because it’s cute,
I love to see little collages on other’s blogs because I like to see the little photo’s they choose and what they represent!

So from top left going right we have 1. Me in glasses! I went to the opticians and I found out I need glasses for reading  2. Me and my partner went for a walk around the local park and he brought me a portion of traditional chips (The kind you get at the seaside! which I love love love!) so that was super nice 3. A really lovely quote that I need to start listening to because I worry to much over the past and to much over the future 4. A little photo of me and my partner messing around 5. A photo of a ladybird I took whilst I was walking home 6. Daffodils! I love them especially because they’re all in bloom this time of year 7. A photo from my partner’s 20th birthday! 8. Another little picture of the park (Excuse the watermark, I’m working on it!) that we walk around sometimes for a nice break of fresh air and finally 9. NANDO’S! we went to nando’s for my partners birthday and it was amazing as usual, I really love nando’s particularly the chicken wrap! 🙂

So that’s my little update, how have you all been? Is there anything you like specifically in this post then let me know in the comments 🙂

30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 16 A BOOK

So day 16 is a book and I thought that I would take a little picture of my first aid book because like I said in a previous post I want to be able to learn first aid by the end of this year, I’m hoping to do a course later on this year to gain a certificate to say I know first aid properly but reading this book helps and gives me a head start. Further to this my dad actually loaned it to me so it means a lot in some senses 🙂
