Film

Film fanatic? 5 old-ish films that I love…

I thought I would do a miniature movie post but not on current movies, instead I thought I would tackle good movies that were released ages ago or what feels like ages ago! I love movies, going to the cinema and just snuggling up watching a film, in my opinion I would say I am quite a film person purely because I watch a lot of movies all the time new and old and I love itttt!

So in this post I thought I would name a few movies that I have enjoyed in the past and I hope you’ll agree on some of them so let’s go…

  • Titanic – Oh this movie gets me every time and I end up crying about something, mainly the scene where the old couple are on the bed when all the water is rushing in – total sadness! This is on the list as well because I don’t know one person who hasn’t watched it, it has all the elements of a good movie and further to this it’s a classic!

  • Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion – One of my all time favourites! I love it because it’s so incredibly cringey and funny and the songs in it make me happy haha

  • Napoleon Dynamite – You either love it, hate it or haven’t ever watched it! (In that case get watching!) but I love this film purely because it makes me laugh no matter how many times I’ve already watched it.

  • Clueless – I never knew this film even existed until one day when I was in my early teens my mum bought me home the DVD and I thought it was going to be awful but it actually wasn’t it was the opposite!

  • Jurassic Park – One of my beloved childhood films, I can still remember pretty much most of the film by memory but it’s one of my favourites!

Well I hope you liked my mini movie post and it bought back some memories! Tell me which are your favourites as well and let me know 🙂

“Why, Hello Old Sport!” – Great Gatsby Flapper Dresses

“I hope she’ll be a fool — that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” – Daisy Buchanan, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Great Gatsby Flapper Dress
So if you haven’t heard about ‘The Great Gatsby’ by now I am not sure where you’ve been! but don’t worry you can just Google it to catch up of course. Anyway I thought that I would do another Great Gatsby style related post, if you have been with me on my blogging journey from the start you’ll know that I did a post similar to this one about flapper dresses this time last year, but now more people are aware of the film and book I thought it would be good to do a bit of ground cover and go over it again!
There is something so nostalgically mystical about the 1920’s, it was a new era for everyone especially the ladies! who had come out of their Victorian shell and started to become more outgoing and independent! These ladies were fearless as it would seem, their make up was flawless and energetic and the icon of the ‘flapper girl’ came into action.
Flapper dresses were a massive hit, they were partially over the top, glitzy and extravagant. These dresses were a thing of the past until the emergence of ‘The Great Gatsby’ which revived the admiration and adoration for these loose fitting and stylish dresses.

30 day photo challenge!

So I have been seeing a lot of the 30 day photo challenges around lately and after looking at loads I couldn’t find one that suited me so I decided to make my own one up because after all its just for fun anyway! I am starting it tomorrow because I’m too impatient to wait for the 1st of March and plus I want to just get it started, I don’t think it matters if you don’t start on the first anyway 🙂

Feel free to take the challenge from below and do it yourself, I think it’s worth doing just because the keywords are open to interpretation and it’ll be interesting what others come up with but let me know if you do and such so I can see the photo’s!

I’ll be posting my first picture tomorrow! NATURE 🙂

The First Time I watched Life Of Pi…

So last night I watched The Life Of Pi, anyone who has read my previous posts and my about me section will know I absolutely love movies! So since last night I watched the film and I decided to do a little review on it, it’ll only be small because as we all know it came out last year so it’s not new but I’m doing it for the people who may not have seen it! 🙂

Okay so the introduction into the story was good and smooth but perhaps took a little too long to get into the actual story of things, which for some people can be a problem as they become disinterested! but if you give it a chance and persevere then the story itself is quite cool as it goes along. One of the things I didn’t like is that the trailer made the film out to be magical which is was but there was a lot of gore and emotional parts to it as well, something which touched a nerve (as the saying goes) when I watched it. There were parts where I felt happy and enjoyed it but the beginning itself of the actual story and some parts throughout were really quite shocking in my opinion, some parts of the story as well skipped itself I believe like at one point there was a shark circling Pi on a tiny raft and then it skipped to him on a boat and the shark no where around…

Overall the story itself is a little bit crazy (Meerkats randomly on an island in the ocean that no one has ever heard of or seen?) but I guess that’s part of the whole magical experience that Pi went through, it’s more of a story about Pi finding belief than anything – which is nice. So in all don’t judge the film till you see it, it’s more adventurous and dramatic than you probably think! 🙂
