Hello again! It’s been so long since I wrote a blog post, my last one seems so long ago! I took a break because I started my final year at university and I wanted to put in more effort than the previous two years and plus I was starting my dissertation and that takes up a lot of time, but I am back to blogging. I missed it a lot and missed the community too so I thought I’d slightly update my blog and then post my first new post of 2015 and since I broke from blogging last year.
Well I’m glad I am back and I hope that you will stick around to read the upcoming posts! 🙂
Okay so we are all excited that summer is upon us right? We are all hoping it’s going to be a ‘hot’ summer, but what us lot in England tend to strive for is a little bit of sunshine that lasts at least longer than an hour! We don’t often get amazing weather in England and when we do it’s sun glasses and ice creams all round and it usually only lasts for one day but oh well! So if you’re a student like me you’ll be coming close to ending your first/second or maybe even third year in university and looking so forward to the summer ahead, am I right? On that note, I thought I would do a post on 5 things I wont miss about university this summer when I’m at home! 🙂
Getting up at 9am for a lecture or seminar and being to tired to even open my eyes. (Source)
Not having any food in the house and mentally making note of the edible items I wish I had in my fridge or cupboards. (Source)
The mountains of coursework, assignments and deadlines! (Source)
Carrying tons of library books home from the library. (Source)
Having to decide between buying toilet roll or chocolate when I only have enough left for one option. (Don’t worry it’ll always be the toilet roll! haha) (Source)
Trying to get on an already overcrowded bus to get to uni on time and hoping I won’t be the one the driver leaves behind because the bus is to it’s maximum capacity. (Source)
Well I hope you all liked that or could relate! If you did then make sure to like or comment so I know you dropped by! 🙂
So I wanted to do a little post to say a BIG BIG thank you to all my followers! I just spent the last couple of minutes adding up my followers on Bloglovin & WordPress and I now have over 500 followers which is brilliant because I never assumed my blog would get this far, so it’s lovely to know there are people out there who love to read what I have to say or like what I just babble on about!
I started my blog just over a year ago now as my blog hit it’s 1st birthday at the end of March and I am so happy that I took the plunge to start blogging because it really is something I enjoy. I was never sure on whether to start blogging as I am a very shy person and pretty much as introverted as an introvert can get! But blogging has helped me in many ways and I have met some wonderful bloggers along the way 🙂
I shall be doing a giveaway towards the end of the month (April) and I hope that you’ll all be interested in taking part! It’ll be my very first giveaway and I am hoping to make it really cool so stay tuned.
Once again thank you to all my lovely followers! 🙂
Sorry I haven’t posted the 30 day photo challenge in a while (I think I missed like 2/3 days) but that’s because it was my partners birthday over the weekend! Hooray 🙂 not only that but I have a lot of essays due these upcoming weeks and I find it hard to work up the motivation to blog straight after I’ve just finished a long essay! So apologies 🙂
However I’m going to post the missing photos now and that way I would’ve caught up to the right day 🙂
So day 18 is natural beauty! And the photo I have chosen is of a bunch of roses I got on valentines day because roses are incredibly beautiful and completely natural! 🙂
So today is day seven and I am posting on time (wooo!) and today was ‘The Sky’ which was an awful coincidence because the weather today was appalling – cold, wet, rainy and cloudy! However luckily on my way home I saw the best skyline which I thought deserved to take pride of place in the 30 day challenge as day 7 and that’s because the skyline was moving into the evening and this meant that the sky was a beautiful tangerine colour and I just had to snap that up! 🙂
So I recently came back to the north as I am about to start my second year of uni here! I also moved into our new apartment which is very cosy and at this specific moment I am sitting on my little sofa writing this post for you guys, the apartment is nice and quite big which is great and enough for two people (Me and my lovely partner) 🙂
Well you are probably wondering overall how did my first year go? Well I have said before it included a lot of ups and downs, a lot of sleepless nights staying up doing coursework, a lot of fun stuff as well which I guess makes a good balance. I learnt a lot of things as well, I now make an excellent sponge cake! 😉 but I also learnt the basics like cooking, cleaning, shopping, doing my own washing, learning to budget (didn’t go as planned!) and such. If you are heading to uni this year that’s what to expect haha but it is definitely an unmissable experience as I am sure anyone who has been would agree.
I know a lot of people before they head to uni can sometimes get worried about whether they’d fit in or what to do if they don’t like clubbing and drinking and such like I did before I arrived here but honestly I realized no one actually cares that much whether you love to stay out all night or if you prefer to have cosy nights in at the end of the day, it is all about your personality that counts.
Tips (Don’t worry I won’t bombard you with a thousand tips to live by, just a few that may help 😉 ) – Sometimes when you have stacks of work you feel like you’d rather just hand in an unfinished piece just to get it over with but that’s when you need motivate yourself, don’t leave any work till last minute unless you are like me and enjoy the pressure because it makes you get things done faster. Do not blow all your loan on freshers and on alcohol because you will end up regretting it when you are living off beans and have no toilet roll and everyone else is enjoying spaghetti bolognese and eating out. Lastly don’t put yourself in danger always be safe, you are an adult now.
Well good luck to those heading to university this year! 🙂
So it has been a while since I have blogged a post in relation to University, so I thought this was a good place to start 🙂 I have officially ended my first year of Uni and I am now home for Summer! I’ll be heading back to University in September for my second year (Fingers crossed I get good first year results!)
So how was my first year overall? It was good & bad but it did teach me a lot, I learnt to cook, clean, DIY, how to survive without TV (no TV license sadly so had to survive by catch up TV on my laptop), how to ignore people that wern’t exactly nice and how to keep up with all the work.
So I thought that I would show you guys my old room in my halls, I lived in 13C and it was a super cute room, very cosy!
So a while ago I did a review on a shop I really loved in Leeds called Upstaged Vintage, the shop has clothes from decades past and stocks some really unique and colourful items.
In return for my review on their shop the owner asked me if I would like to have some complimentary photo’s done as a thank you and also to go on their shop website, I of course agreed happily! So on Friday just before I came home I went and had them done, I chose three outfits and these were the pictures – very happy with them! 🙂
I just wanted to write a quick message and explain how comes I haven’t blogged as much as usual and that’s because I had my exam today and have been revising a lot not to mention the stacks of coursework I have to finish by the end of the week, so all my concentration has to go on that for now! However I get to go home at the weekend for Summer and I will have plenty of time to blog about everything, plus this Saturday we have some really great blogger interviews coming up and some outfits of the day posts and reviews as well! 🙂
Here is a photo of a cute little piglet and a strawberry to cheer you all up! 😀
So today has been very warm here in England and very sunny for a change so I decided to take a chance and leave my coat at home crossed my fingers it wouldn’t rain and went out in a polka dot dress! This is a dress I got a few years back and it still fits which is great, it’s black with beige polka dots and cute little brass buttons at the front.
I actually brought this dress from Primark for around about £3 a couple summers ago so for £3 it’s lasted me a good while which is always great if something lasts for ages after you brought it! You can pretty much wear it with anything, but today as I was in a rush I went for black tights and cardigan – Not very bright but a good outfit all the same. If I had more time it probably would’ve been brighter and bolder but when your in a rush it’s hard to choose things that match as well as colour co-ordination! Hope you all enjoy 🙂
