I’m back to blogging!

Hello again! It’s been so long since I wrote a blog post, my last one seems so long ago! I took a break because I started my final year at university and I wanted to put in more effort than the previous two years and plus I was starting my dissertation and that takes up a lot of time, but I am back to blogging. I missed it a lot and missed the community too so I thought I’d slightly update my blog and then post my first new post of 2015 and since I broke from blogging last year.

Well I’m glad I am back and I hope that you will stick around to read the upcoming posts! ūüôā

Day 3 – 5 things I dislike

So in this little post it is day 3 so I will be discussing 5 things that I dislike, I’ll make it short and sweet and to the point! ūüôā

1. Liars – What’s the point in lying, you only have to remember all the lies you’ve told and eventually liars always get caught out, plus it’s not healthy.

2. Tuna – Just yuck. It smells, it’s a fish and it looks unappetizing.

3. Bugs in my room at night when I’m trying to sleep cause they might crawl on me ūüė¶

4. Eating healthy and then having a moment of weakness eat lots of rubbish and then feel bad afterwards.

5. When I do my make up and I have to sneeze or itch my eye ūüė¶

So that’s 5 little things I dislike, there’s probably more but that’ll do for now! Tomorrow is day 4 which is what’s in my bag!¬†giphy (1)

Nearly blonde! A cautionary tale of attempting to go blonde…

For a long time I had been trying to decide whether I wanted to be blonde or have pastel pink hair or do all sorts of jazzy stuff with my locks, it is a fact that I can’t leave my hair alone for a long period of time cause I just get bored!

(Warning – It’s rather a long post but it does have some cute gifs!)

So from the top lets begin! I have brown hair (there are probably a billion shades of brown hair and I could try and find my shade but it’ll take to long so let’s just go with brown for now) and I decided on a whim that I wanted my hair to be lighter for summer and I was thinking of pastel pink or maybe trying blonde out. I had spent days and days online reading reviews of bleaching kits, highlighting kits, dyes, toners, you name it I read a post on it! But I finally decided to go to blonde or at least try, so I went and brought the much raved about BLEACH London total bleaching kit and I brought two because apparently the mixture in one box was¬†a small proportion and wouldn’t cover all my hair¬†as other bloggers had stated in the reviews I read so I followed the advice that I’d most likely need two boxes.¬†I had to then make the choice of what shade of blonde I wanted to be and I eventually decided I wanted to be a golden blonde or a little darker than platinum so I also brought the Jerome Russell BBlonde Champagne blonde toner as well!

Image

So onto the main event! I bleached my hair which is one of the most hardest tasks ever even with an extra pair of hands, luckily my partner was on hand to help me out but nevertheless it was a hard task. After bleaching my hair my head was stinging and I had a while to kill while the bleach was doing its thing, after I washed it out I saw that it was gingery blonde so I put in the toner following the instructions and waited for that to do its business too.

Washing out the toner I was super excited to see my lovely blonde hair BUT to my horror it was blonde on top and gingery blonde towards the bottom, it wasn’t a big deal that it was two shades but it was mighty obvious when I stepped outside in the light and it looked ghastly! (It was like platinum white, sunshine yellow + tangerine orange with a bit of browny blonde thrown it – what a lovely mixture right?)

In the end I was thinking of buying more toner to make it one shade but this was becoming a very expensive¬†endeavour and I had been missing my brown hair a lot so I decided to dye my hair brown once again and¬†luckily I had a ‘golden brown’ hair dye at hand at home and chucked that on today and it came out a nice light browny colour which is great! But it has made me realise not to attempt this again and if I do then do it professionally at least, but for those of you wondering about the condition of my hair it is perfectly conditioned and healthy still! ūüôā

As for the products I used I’ll add a mini bit in about them as I did want this to be¬†a normal post not a review but the BLEACH London total bleaching kit seems to be over hyped in my opinion, it’s just like any other bleach in the sense that it does smell, it does sting and it does dry out your hair despite the reviews I read where others said it didn’t the only positive really is that it is a little cheaper and the box is quite snazzy however I also got within my¬†BLEACH London kit a conditioning reincarnation hair mask tube which you can buy separate¬†anyway and this is wonderful for your hair if you’ve dyed it – definitely worth purchasing!

On the other hand the Jerome Russell BBlonde Champagne toner did its job to an extent, it did remove brassy tones and gingery yellow bits but not all of it as well as this it is a very darkish blonde so if you’re looking for a light blonde or platinum I wouldn’t recommend this one specifically.

Well anyway that is that and I hope you enjoyed reading this little tale and had a good laugh or it helped you in anyway! ūüôā

The 90’s Kid Tag! The glorious year of 1993…

So I was looking at some other lovely bloggers blogs and I came across a 90’s kid tag on Lauren’s blog! If you’d love to take a look or go to her blog then you can check it out here –¬†http://keepcalmitsonlyablog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/blast-from-past-calling-all-90s-kids.html

I was born in 1993 so I thought that I would give this a shot because it seemed cute and it’s always nice to be nostalgic now and then! So let’s get started…

1. Favourite Disney film?
The¬†Lion King, The Little Mermaid and probably¬†Snow White. (On the topic of films however, I did watch one with my dad when I was little called ‘The 10th Kingdom’ and it was one of my favourites for a while although it’s not¬†Disney¬†I thought I’d throw that in)

2. NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?
Neither personally, however my sister loved to listen to Backstreet Boys constantly.

3. Favourite candy/sweets?
I liked ring pops, nothing was more glamorous than them!

4. Weirdest fashion trend?
I spent most my childhood happily dressing in camouflage clothing as I loved it! (Bearing in mind I am the daughter of a ex-soldier) and I also remember I had a two piece set, which was long trousers and a crop top in a bright yellow colour (Hahaha!) But I also had a pair of silver glittery jelly heels!
5. Favourite music artist/band?
Spice Girls and S Club 7 for sure! (Personally my favourite song by S Club 7 was reach for the stars! hahah)
6. Favourite game? (board game, playground)
I had a favourite playground game, I can’t remember the name now but it was something to do with oranges!¬†
7. What would you watch on TV after school & Favourite TV shows?
Art Attack,Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hey Arnold, Arthur, Rupert, Little Bear,The Queen’s Nose, Rosie and Jim, Bill and Ben just to name a few!¬†
8. Favourite book?
I read mostly Saddle Club, Roald Dahl and Jacqueline Wilson books. Although I did have a lot of pet related books because I would always nag my parents for an animal, any animal and in this desire I would end up buying lots of animal care related books.
9. Favourite clothing store?
I can’t remember!¬†
10. 90’s beauty memories?
Bright blue & green eye shadow, roll on body glitter, crimped hair and hair braids. I also liked to get the¬†children’s make up from the supermarkets, you know the kind that were in the toy area and smelled like plastic but¬†were in ravishing shades of dark pinks and purples!
11. Favourite McDonalds happy meal toy?
I can’t really remember the toys I got from McDonalds back then sadly but I do remember going to McDonalds with one of my older sister’s and her friends.

12. Favourite toy?
I collected tons and tons of Pokemon stuff, cards, toys everything you name it. I also loved barbies, I had a mermaid one that when you put her tail in water it changed different colours! I also had a Tamogotchi a little baby pink one in the shape of an egg ūüôā
So that’s my 90’s kid tag and if you were born in the 90’s why don’t you give it a go as well? Comment and let me know ūüôā

My top 5 favourite Tv shows!

Everybody loves watching¬†TV¬†right? Or maybe you¬†don’t…Anyway I love watching certain soaps, drama’s and TV series and I thought I would share my¬†favourite¬†ones with you guys!

Okay so here’s my top 5 favourite list:

  1. Hollyoaks – British soap that usually is on either Channel 4 or 4+ but I tend to watch it on 4od which is catch up only because at my halls there is no TV so I have to watch things on catch up ūüė¶ The cast are all mostly crazy or weird but that’s what makes it interesting to watch, there’s also a high frequent amount of deaths and murders, cheating and general craziness in the show.
  2. Eastenders – Another British soap based on a square in London, long story short no one lives a happy normal life in Eastenders and there is ALWAYS some sort of crazy out of the blue drama but that’s why I watch it ūüôā
  3. Ugly Betty – I love this! Even when the season 4 ended I still went back to season 1 to watch it all over again and I probably will purchase the box set soon as well. I’m sad that there’s no season 5 because I got really into but it’s still an all time favourite anyway! I think this was a big hit with many because most people sympathized with Betty and loved to see her battle her way through the fashion industry with her crazy dress sense and¬†colleagues.
  4. Suburgatory – This is a¬†relatively¬†recent one that I started watching just before I came to university and I still love it now. It’s about a girl who moves from¬†Manhattan¬†wit her dad to a suburban town called Chatswin. I love the craziness of the town and all the characters as well,¬†definitely¬†worth a watch if you haven’t seen it!
  5. Family Guy/American Dad/Simpsons –¬†Okay so I cheated a little and put these three into one¬†category, but there sort of the same thing anyway so I thought you wouldn’t mind! I love these because I love¬†animated¬†comedies, I also like most of the¬†humor¬†in them as well, I love the special episodes the Simpsons do on occasions such as Halloween and I love American Dad and Family Guy bevause of the characters as well. So these¬†definitely¬†make it on the list.

So now you know my fav TV shows you’ll know what I’m gonna be watching later haha ūüôā

Hope you enjoyed, Follow/Like/Add on Twitter.
