Style Icon: Helena Bonham Carter

Okay so roughly a week ago I picked up the latest issue of Vogue July 2013 and this issue was based around the idea of being ageless, timeless and original. Much to my contentment this months issue had the wonderfully quirky Helena Bonham Carter on its cover! Now if you are unsure who this lady is, let me just give you a nudge in the right direction because she is one of the most prolific actresses and style icons of our time.

Starring in works such as Sweeney Todd (One of my favourite films!), Harry Potter and Les Miserables she is quite well known worldwide. But thinking of her style retrospectively it is clear to see that she has a very quirky and slightly strange sense of style (Not saying that’s a bad thing!) bright clothes and outrageously thrown together accessories and shoes seem to work well for Helena making her style sense unique and different but yet refreshing.

With that in mind, if you have a chance you should pick up the latest issue of Vogue to see her photoshoot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot as it really is quite something 🙂

My 5 favourite items of clothing in my wardrobe

So being an avid clothes lover and fashion conscious girl, my wardrobe is jam packed full of pieces of clothing. I openly admit I do not have enough storage space so much so my partner has to keep some of my clothes in his accommodation as well! & back home in North London before Uni I was in the same situation where I had to many clothes and not enough space. So putting all these clothes to use I thought I’d share my 5 favourite items of clothing in my wardrobe with my faithful followers! 🙂

  1. My dark blue denim skinny jeans – Obvious essential and easy to wear with near enough EVERYTHING.
  2. A red embellished teddy bear jumper I picked up from a vintage fair when I first arrived at University -It’s dead cute!
  3. My Hello Kitty onesie – There is nothing better than coming home from long seminars and snuggling up in it!
  4. A Gok Wan black formal fitted shirt which my mum brought me before I came to Uni – Perfect for the formal/casual classy look.
  5. A new tunic shirt I brought from Dorothy Perkins in the sale – It’s autumn colours are beautiful and it was a bargain! WIN.
