Sometimes I feel like giving this 30 day challenge up because it is so damn hard to post on time! hehe but I will upload the photo’s as often and on time as I can because I am committed to finishing this!
Day 19 was vintage and I chose my necklace that my partner brought me because it’s really beautiful, it’s from a film we watched a while ago called the illusionist and its a mechanical wooden locket! 🙂
I love films! I love movies and the cinema, cosy days and nights snuggled up on the sofa under a duvet with my partner watching a DVD with tons of sweets or sitting in the cinema with ice cream & snacks waiting for the movie to start, watching those terrible yet funny and intriguing trailers and ads! 🙂
So yesterday was day 13 and the keyword was film as you would’ve guessed by now, I’m posting a day late as I was having a film night last night and was to fixated watching the movies that I accidentally forgot to post till now but I did take a photo and the photo is some of our movie collection!
Let me know if you love movies or films just as much as me and if you have any suggestions! 🙂
I love love love girly films just as much as the next girl, the kind of films you can count on to not judge your makeup-less face and pajamas and will always bring a smile to your face. So one evening I was looking for a list of girly films on Google and believe me there are way way way to many lists! So I thought why don’t I add to the internet’s massive collection of girly films lists haha! 🙂

Okay so roughly a week ago I picked up the latest issue of Vogue July 2013 and this issue was based around the idea of being ageless, timeless and original. Much to my contentment this months issue had the wonderfully quirky Helena Bonham Carter on its cover! Now if you are unsure who this lady is, let me just give you a nudge in the right direction because she is one of the most prolific actresses and style icons of our time.
Starring in works such as Sweeney Todd (One of my favourite films!), Harry Potter and Les Miserables she is quite well known worldwide. But thinking of her style retrospectively it is clear to see that she has a very quirky and slightly strange sense of style (Not saying that’s a bad thing!) bright clothes and outrageously thrown together accessories and shoes seem to work well for Helena making her style sense unique and different but yet refreshing.
With that in mind, if you have a chance you should pick up the latest issue of Vogue to see her photoshoot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot as it really is quite something 🙂
So this year there is set to be some really intriguing and adventurous trends to walk the catwalk and pave a pathway into our hearts. With this in mind I have seen some key trends already within magazines such as Vogue and ELLE and I thought that I would mention my favourite picks from this years Summer and Autumn’s trends to come since there are some real fantastic pieces! 🙂
Bare: Nude and bare colours are a big trend this Summer and Autumn, these light hue’s are a perfect season colour for any piece of clothing or accessory especially shoes such as heels and flat pumps and this is because they make your legs look longer, something which many women wish for! So if that sounds like you then grab yourself a pair of nude heels and watch the compliments flow in.
Oriental Infusion: Recently on the catwalk there has been an influx of oriental infused designs and trends sweeping through the fashion world, from china patterns to delicate embroidery and origami cuts, this overall trend is so elegant and colourful it makes a definite favourite for Summer and Autumn.
1920’s: Gatsby has been more than a cinema hit, it has been a worldwide global phenomenon passing the 1920’s style around and capturing the hearts of many. Que the mass of 1920’s flapper dresses, glitzy accessories and an influx of pearls and embroidery!
Geometric: Geometric shapes and cuts are a big trend this year in Summer and Autumn, colourful and bold they make a strong confident statement in pieces of our favourite clothing. Plus they give great shape to all your assets in the best places!
Leather: Leather has been a big trend for a long while now, capturing our attention a couple of months back and still managing to contain our attention leather has been a contagious fashion trend. Leggings, tops and dresses all are some of our favourite pieces which come in leather and one of the best things about the material? It’s figure hugging which means it accentuates your curves and other assets.
Hope you enjoyed! 🙂
Procrastination? Something that many students in years 10, 11, A levels and all the way to University will either proudly admit to doing or live in denial about doing it and actually do it. It’s so easy to forget you have to revise for GCSE’s or hand in a 2000 word essay on your last lecture the next morning but we all do it at some point right? I always find myself watching episodes of Hollyoaks or Eastenders, painting my nails, tweeting or scanning Facebook and then being like ‘CRAP!’ when I remember the list of tasks I have to complete, So! I am trying hard to not procrastinate this last semester of my first year of University – Not going as well as planned.
Anyway today I overslept but I didn’t mind because I had no lectures/seminars (Phew!) woke up around 4:30pm (Terrible I know but makes a change from getting up at the crack of dawn) and me and my partner decided we would go to the cinema and see Scary Movie 5, when we got to the city centre we grabbed some dinner at Nando’s in the new Trinity centre, give me chicken strip wraps with mayo and chips from Nando’s anyday! (Hold the chilli jam, I’m not a fan). We then ran in the rain to the cinema which was just down the road and got our tickets and some Ben & Jerry’s core ice cream, for anyone who doesn’t know what a Ben and Jerry’s core ice cream is it’s basically where they let you choose two flavours of ice cream then add toffee or chocolate sauce, whipped cream and chocolate drops on top…I know sounds like a sugar overload right? 🙂 Anyway Scary Movie 5 was alright, not amazing but still quite funny so go watch if that’s your sort of film!
One thing I love about sharing flats in halls at University is the fact you can pull pranks and no one will know it was you when there’s 4 or 5 other suspects as well haha! So when we got in we took all the kitchen chairs and in the hallway in awkward positions so people couldn’t get past, little childish but was fun. I can’t wait for second year though when we have our on apartment! Plus It’ll be nice to start the year fresh 🙂
Anyway hope you’re all okay! Like and follow 🙂 (Photos below!)
