30 day photo challenge – day 18 natural beauty

Hey everyone!

Sorry I haven’t posted the 30 day photo challenge in a while (I think I missed like 2/3 days) but that’s because it was my partners birthday over the weekend! Hooray ๐Ÿ™‚ not only that but I have a lot of essays due these upcoming weeks and I find it hard to work up the motivation to blog straight after I’ve just finished a long essay! So apologies ๐Ÿ™‚

However I’m going to post the missing photos now and that way I would’ve caught up to the right day ๐Ÿ™‚

So day 18 is natural beauty! And the photo I have chosen is of a bunch of roses I got on valentines day because roses are incredibly beautiful and completely natural! ๐Ÿ™‚

30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 7 THE SKY

So today is day seven and I am posting on time (wooo!) and today was ‘The Sky’ which was an awful coincidence because the weather today was appalling – cold, wet, rainy and cloudy! However luckily on my way home I saw the best skyline which I thought deserved to take pride of place in the 30 day challenge as day 7 and that’s because the skyline was moving into the evening and this meant that the sky was a beautiful tangerine colour and I just had to snap that up! ๐Ÿ™‚

Things I love about Halloween!

Hello, Hello, Hello…I know I haven’t blogged in a while and that is because I had my birthday on 12th October (I am 20 now!) and I have been doing a lot of university work and also as you mostly all know I write for a few magazines as a freelance journalist on the side to gain experience and add to my portfolio so both of those things are hectically time consuming! Sorry! But I am back and I will try to blog a bit more so stick around ๐Ÿ™‚

So for my post I thought I would choose the topic of Halloween, which is a pretty obvious one since it is October! I think October is probably my favourite month followed by December as it’s all frosty and leafy and just all round cosy ๐Ÿ™‚ But back to my topic of blog post, so I thought I would do things I love about Halloween! So lets start…

1. Candy Apples/Caramel Apples/Toffee Apples – So delicious! Although I prefer the caramel outside rather than the actual apple.

2. Pumpkins – Who doesn’t enjoy a good pumpkin carving? Inside the pumpkin smells a little but once you get past all the seeds and gooey bits it is pretty fun to carve a little face into it and I love how it looks all spooky when the candle is lit inside.

3. All the shops, stores and houses get prepared for Halloween – Fake cobwebs, pumpkins, fake zombies, pretend tombstones, spiders, bats and blood everywhere!

4. Candy Corn – Something I found like a year ago, it is an American sweet that we don’t have over in England but we can find it in some special American sweet shops here and they taste amazing!

5. Dressing up – Although I dress up for Halloween a lot less than when I was a child and people’s choice of outfits may have changed into more mature selections I still love to dress up and be all spooky if I can.

So that’s what I love about Halloween! What about you?

Back To Uni – My 2nd Year & What To Expect In 1st Year

So I recently came back to the north as I am about to start my second year of uni here! I also moved into our new apartment which is very cosy and at this specific moment I am sitting on my little sofa writing this post for you guys, the apartment is nice and quite big which is great and enough for two people (Me and my lovely partner) ๐Ÿ™‚

Well you are probably wondering overall how did my first year go? Well I have said before it included a lot of ups and downs, a lot of sleepless nights staying up doing coursework, a lot of fun stuff as well which I guess makes a good balance. I learnt a lot of things as well, I now make an excellent sponge cake! ๐Ÿ˜‰ but I also learnt the basics like cooking, cleaning, shopping, doing my own washing, learning to budget (didn’t go as planned!) and such. If you are heading to uni this year that’s what to expect haha but it is definitely an unmissable experience as I am sure anyone who has been would agree.
I know a lot of people before they head to uni can sometimes get worried about whether they’d fit in or what to do if they don’t like clubbing and drinking and such like I did before I arrived here but honestly I realized no one actually cares that much whether you love to stay out all night or if you prefer to have cosy nights in at the end of the day, it is all about your personality that counts.

Tips (Don’t worry I won’t bombard you with a thousand tips to live by, just a few that may help ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) – Sometimes when you have stacks of work you feel like you’d rather just hand in an unfinished piece just to get it over with but that’s when you need motivate yourself, don’t leave any work till last minute unless you are like me and enjoy the pressure because it makes you get things done faster. Do not blow all your loan on freshers and on alcohol because you will end up regretting it when you are living off beans and have no toilet roll and everyone else is enjoying spaghetti bolognese and eating out. Lastly don’t put yourself in danger always be safe, you are an adult now.

Well good luck to those heading to university this year! ๐Ÿ™‚

My Autumn Wishlist!

Okay so I thought that this would be a good post to do because it is nearly the start of Autumn, It may sound silly but I had to Google when the actual start date of Autumn was and it said the 22nd September! I love Autumn personally, I adore the crispy brown and orange leaves on the floor, Halloween! (I still dress up), the rainy days and nights and the smell of cinnamon (My Favourite!) so with that in mind here is my Autumn wish list:

  • Ankle wellies with the cute little bows on the side (It rains here endlessly).
  • Another winter coat (The North is cold!).
  • Michael Kors watch (One day hopefully!)
  • Nina Ricci body wash (Mine has run out, boo ๐Ÿ˜ฆ )
  • GTA 5, Batman Arkham Origins, Assassins Creed Blag Flag and some other games I wanted.
  • illamasqua rich liquid foundation

It is only a tiny list because I can never actually remember things I want until I see it again in the shops haha but I am very much looking forward to Autumn, I have always said that my favourite season is Winter but I love Autumn as well so lets hope it is good this year ๐Ÿ™‚

Officially No Longer A First Year Fresher At University

So it has been a while since I have blogged a post in relation to University, so I thought this was a good place to start ๐Ÿ™‚ I have officially ended my first year of Uni and I am now home for Summer! I’ll be heading back to University in September for my second year (Fingers crossed I get good first year results!)ย

So how was my first year overall? It was good & bad but it did teach me a lot, I learnt to cook, clean, DIY, how to survive without TV (no TV license sadly so had to survive by catch up TV on my laptop), how to ignore people that wern’t exactly nice and how to keep up with all the work.

So I thought that I would show you guys my old room in my halls, I lived in 13C and it was a super cute room, very cosy!

Where Have I Been Hiding & Journey To Be A Fashion Journalist Updates!

ieiertย ย gregf

Hey Everyone!

So as you may have realized I haven’t been posting as much as I usually do and that’s because I have had quite a hectic but positive week! For those of you that follow my blog for updates on my journey to become a fashion journalist, well I have some little updates for you! Firstly I am now writing for another two new magazines who have a large readership so that’s quite exciting, not to mention one of the magazines is also American which is a great way for me to expand my experience in journalism and magazines globally.

So now I write for 4 magazines, some on a weekly basis and others on a monthly basis which is fine by me as I love writing and the flexibility fits in great with my life! So my fashion and journalism experience is adding up now so I made a mini list so you can see what I have accomplished this month:

  • Becoming a Fashion Ambassador for Fashion156.com
  • Writing for another British based magazine
  • Writing for an American based magazine
  • I have done my first ever model photo shoot in 1960’s and 1980’s vintage clothing
  • Completed lots of promotional exchanges with many online stores

Well moving on, I have finished my first year of University a week ago and traveled home for Summer break so I have been catching up with my family back in North London so I haven’t been posting much! But now I am starting to post more often, so bare with me guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been reading endless Vogue and ELLE magazines lately, I never use to buy them because they were quite pricey but now I am just starting to read them and I love the content. I also went into my local library and I found the March Issue of Vogue for 30p! So I brought that as it was a bargain.Image

Exams, Coursework and Procrastination

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to write a quick message and explainย how comesย I haven’t blogged as much as usual and that’s because I had my exam today and have been revising a lot not to mention the stacks of coursework I have to finish by the end of the week, so all my concentration has to go on that for now! However I get to go home at the weekend for Summer and I will have plenty of time to blog about everything, plus this Saturday we have some really great blogger interviews coming up and some outfits of the day posts and reviews as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is a photo of a cute little piglet and a strawberry to cheer you all up! ๐Ÿ˜€

OOTD for the summer sunshine

So today has been very warm here in England and very sunny for a change so I decided to take a chance and leave my coat at home crossed my fingers it wouldn’t rain and went out in a polka dot dress! This is a dress I got a few years back and it still fits which is great, it’s black with beige polka dots and cute little brass buttons at the front.
I actually brought this dress from Primark for around about ยฃ3 a couple summers ago so for ยฃ3 it’s lasted me a good while which is always great if something lasts for ages after you brought it! You can pretty much wear it with anything, but today as I was in a rush I went for black tights and cardigan – Not very bright but a good outfit all the same. If I had more time it probably would’ve been brighter and bolder but when your in a rush it’s hard to choose things that match as well as colour co-ordination! Hope you all enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚
