My Favourite Summer/Autumn Trends

So this year there is set to be some really intriguing and adventurous trends to walk the catwalk and pave a pathway into our hearts. With this in mind I have seen some key trends already within magazines such as Vogue and ELLE and I thought that I would mention my favourite picks from this years Summer and Autumn’s trends to come since there are some real fantastic pieces! 🙂

Bare: Nude and bare colours are a big trend this Summer and Autumn, these light hue’s are a perfect season colour for any piece of clothing or accessory especially shoes such as heels and flat pumps and this is because they make your legs look longer, something which many women wish for! So if that sounds like you then grab yourself a pair of nude heels and watch the compliments flow in.

Oriental Infusion: Recently on the catwalk there has been an influx of oriental infused designs and trends sweeping through the fashion world, from china patterns to delicate embroidery and origami cuts, this overall trend is so elegant and colourful it makes a definite favourite for Summer and Autumn.

1920’s: Gatsby has been more than a cinema hit, it has been a worldwide global phenomenon passing the 1920’s style around and capturing the hearts of many. Que the mass of 1920’s flapper dresses, glitzy accessories and an influx of pearls and embroidery!

Geometric: Geometric shapes and cuts are a big trend this year in Summer and Autumn, colourful and bold they make a strong confident statement in pieces of our favourite clothing. Plus they give great shape to all your assets in the best places!

Leather: Leather has been a big trend for a long while now, capturing our attention a couple of months back and still managing to contain our attention leather has been a contagious fashion trend. Leggings, tops and dresses all are some of our favourite pieces which come in leather and one of the best things about the material? It’s figure hugging which means it accentuates your curves and other assets.

Hope you enjoyed! 🙂

My Travels to Belgium, Helsinki, Ibiza and Japan.

So I thought I’d write a little piece on some places I have been before because as you know I love travelling! I intend to travel a lot more when I finish University and get a decent stable career to fund my travels. I think my main purpose of travelling is the fact that I want to see the world, I love learning and experiencing different cultures and seeing famous buildings and monuments. All of this excites me! I haven’t been to loads of places because I only got my passport in my teenage years and so I have only been to a few places but that was enough for me to realise I love travelling, I love the excitement of getting to the airport, seeing the planes, the take off and landings, the butterflies in your stomach when you know you’re in the air finally and them little meals you get on board!

So with that in mind I thought I would share with you the few places I have been before up until now.

Belgium – This was a school trip to Ypres in Belgium. We went as a history class to visit the battlefields, museums and Menin gate, we actually only went for one day so it was a pretty long day as we had to get a ferry there and back (My first time on a ferry). Because it was my first time on a ferry I had no idea what to expect, I’m petrified of the sea (well going in it! I still think it’s beautiful though) and I was worried the whole way that the ferry would sink. I think I even googled it the night before we went how to survive if a ferry sinks! Silly me! Anyway the whole trip was alright and we got to visit some great historic places and at the end we were allowed to go into one of Belgium’s best chocolate shops 🙂

Ibiza – This was a birthday present trip from my parents for my 16th Birthday. It was the first time I ever stepped foot on a plane and I loved it! My dad ordered us food for the journey and I was so excited, they had planned it so we left two days before my birthday so I turned 16 when I was out there. We went to an all inclusive resort called Palladium Palace in Playa Den Bossa and was right on the beach! With two massive outdoor pools, food 24-7 and comfortable rooms I was in paradise! I’m a big nature person so when we got to Ibiza I was so thrilled to be able to see little lizards up so close and other exotic animals and birds – Even saw Flamingos! We toured round most of the island and went to Las Salinas (Well known celebrity hot spot with a beautifully stunning beach) we also went to Santa Eulalia, Portinatx and other great towns 🙂

Helsinki – On the way to Japan (I’m getting to that after this!) We stopped briefly in Helsinki and I loved the fact it is the home of the moomin, everything I saw to buy was moomin based and it was adorable! But Helsinki was also very beautiful and natural as well with very polite people.

Japan – So in 2011 I went to Japan to visit my brother who lives there, I was a bit nervous about this journey as it was 16 hours long with only an hour stop meaning this was the longest journey I will probably ever go on… I was excited though to see my brother and experience Japanese culture for a week. When we boarded the plane we got bottle of water, pillows, blankets, headphones and eye masks for the long journey ahead of us. The journey actually was quite fun but tedious in places, I stayed up most of time just listening to music from all around the world on the in seat computer and thinking, we got there early in the morning and the time difference made me slightly jet lagged so when we got to my brothers apartment we slept for a few hours and then we all went out so my brother could show us his local area – Nagoya. He showed us some really beautiful temples and shrines, wildlife and views from the city. The next couple of days was spent touring areas, shrines, temples and shops of Japan, which was awesome! We went to Nagoya, Kyoto, Sakai and various other cities, but I think my favourite place was the Kiyomizudera Temple in Kyoto it was beautiful to say the least! I loved this place especially because I got to have a go at the Otowa waterfall where there is three streams of water and you get given a cup on a long stick and you choose to drink out of one of the fountains, each has a different benefit (Love, Success in school or Longevity I believe) but I loved this temple and all the other little parts of it because it was set in the beautiful mountain side with amazing views.

All in all this is a little bit on my travels and in the future I hope to add some more ! 🙂 (Photos from Japan below, Sadly I lost most of them from Ibiza, Helsinki and Belgium 😦 But there is two from Ibiza but they’re terrible quality! But all photos are mine)

April fools day, Fashion Internships and Cute nails

I’m deleting my blog – APRILS FOOLS! That was terrible i’ll admit, but it was the first prank I’ve pulled all day despite it being April fools day because I simply haven’t thought of a good enough prank to do and a lack of people around means there’s no one to pull pranks on 😦

So I’m blogging relatively late today and that’s because I have been searching around the internet for information on how to be a successful fashion blogger and looking endlessly at  internships and work experience which is fun but stressful. What I realised was one of the most hardest things that everyone gets nervous about and cannot ever avoid in life is selling yourself to a potential employer or client, telling them why you’re so much better than a million other hopefuls – this task is daunting for even the most experienced person I bet!

Other than that I didn’t do much today, my ankle still really hurts so I stayed in and put off getting my eyebrows done (Again! I know terrible) but hopefully I’ll go tomorrow, but I’m feeling bit better about myself lately and I’m hopefully going to bleach the ends of my hair again later or tomorrow because the ombre blonde tips are fading out 😦 However I painted my nails the other day after not having painted them in over 2 months roughly (sadly never had time), so I used Sally Hansens hard as nails pink nail varnish called Dahlia which makes me feel like spring is finally here and I’ve got to admit it’s a definite favourite of mine now as my nails look cute!

I’m super glad it’s a new month, going home for Summer is getting closer and closer and I can’t wait! Although before I go home for Summer there are some things that I need to do before hand which I’m not exactly looking forward to much, I take weekly Japanese language classes and next week I’m due to present to the class a presentation on an aspect of Japanese culture I like, this would be alright but I’m not really a fan of doing presentations to a class full of random students I don’t know all on my own – So I’m dreading that 😦 Adding to that discomfort I have a Hospital Appointment next weekend which I’m not looking forward to either – urgh. On the positive side I’m really loving getting to blog everyday and want to thank my followers for all the likes and support!

Well that’s it for now, hope you’ve all had a good April Fools Day! 🙂
