Things I love about Halloween!

Hello, Hello, Hello…I know I haven’t blogged in a while and that is because I had my birthday on 12th October (I am 20 now!) and I have been doing a lot of university work and also as you mostly all know I write for a few magazines as a freelance journalist on the side to gain experience and add to my portfolio so both of those things are hectically time consuming! Sorry! But I am back and I will try to blog a bit more so stick around 🙂

So for my post I thought I would choose the topic of Halloween, which is a pretty obvious one since it is October! I think October is probably my favourite month followed by December as it’s all frosty and leafy and just all round cosy 🙂 But back to my topic of blog post, so I thought I would do things I love about Halloween! So lets start…

1. Candy Apples/Caramel Apples/Toffee Apples – So delicious! Although I prefer the caramel outside rather than the actual apple.

2. Pumpkins – Who doesn’t enjoy a good pumpkin carving? Inside the pumpkin smells a little but once you get past all the seeds and gooey bits it is pretty fun to carve a little face into it and I love how it looks all spooky when the candle is lit inside.

3. All the shops, stores and houses get prepared for Halloween – Fake cobwebs, pumpkins, fake zombies, pretend tombstones, spiders, bats and blood everywhere!

4. Candy Corn – Something I found like a year ago, it is an American sweet that we don’t have over in England but we can find it in some special American sweet shops here and they taste amazing!

5. Dressing up – Although I dress up for Halloween a lot less than when I was a child and people’s choice of outfits may have changed into more mature selections I still love to dress up and be all spooky if I can.

Maxitone Definity Toning System Strawberry Flavour Review

A while ago I decided that I wanted to get fit and exercise more and tone up for summer (Just like everyone else) I have a pretty athletic/slim build but it was the toning which I wanted to concentrate on and definitely not weight loss! I love food to much anyway 🙂

So I have started going on morning jogs around 10am because it’s the nicest feeling in the world to wake up and smell the fresh air and jog around a really nice park when the sun is out or it’s a little windy listening to my favourite music, I find it refreshing. But I am not a night jogger – too scary for me! Besides jogging I have started working out more specifically focusing around ab curls and plank exercises to strengthen my stomach muscles.

I actually also decided to look in Holland and Barrett for something which may aid my progress and I actually found Maxitone Definity Toning System which is a “Delicious high protein shake, helps your body to recover and repair after exercise” in Strawberry flavour.
I was a little skeptical at using it first because I wasn’t sure if it would work and also because I had never tried anything like this before! But after reading the back of the tub I decided that it would be beneficial to me as protein is well known for aiding healthy skin, hair and nails as well as body muscles.

Although the tub also states that it is key to have a healthy diet as well as doing exercise and incorporating Maxitone into this lifestyle will help you achieve maximum results.
The powder is meant to be mixed with 200ml of water and very honestly it doesn’t taste at all that nice, more like a watered down strawberry milkshake but I am still sticking at it 🙂

So far I think it’s helping and working quite well and after looking at reviews online many people rated this one very high and I have to agree with them, it’s such a healthy idea!

The 30 Day Crunch Challenge

So I decided to attempt the 30 day crunch challenge, something which has been circulating the internet for some time now and after reading reviews from celebrities and other girls saying it worked I thought I might as well give it a go!

Crunches are basically sit ups and this is to tone and build your stomach muscles, something which I particularly want to do in preparation for Summer. So I will attach the picture below for the amount of crunches you need to do each day, I am currently on day 3 so tomorrow is my day of rest luckily! But I can definitely feel it working already, my tummy muscles are starting to get tighter and I can see a change as well in before I started and 3 days in already.

Lately I feel as if I need and want to get fitter so I spent ages trying to find something, I didn’t want to diet or do some crazy detox so I think for now I will stick with exercise which is always good and healthy. So I will let you know how I am progressing with that (or if I give up!) and hopefully after day 30 I will have a toned tum! 😀

My top 10 countries I want to visit most!

I love the thought of travelling and going to different places and cities and I really love it when I log onto my WordPress blog and see that I have hits and followers from many different countries, it’s very exciting and interesting for me! 🙂 So I thought I would share 10 countries that are first on my list of places.

Hope you like 🙂

  1. South Africa – I’ve heard it’s a very beautiful country and I’d like to visit Johannesburg, Durban, Cape town and some of the national parks as well!
  2. America – There is so many places in America I dream of visiting such as New York, Chicago, Brooklyn, Seattle and so many other places. I’ve heard it’s all very beautiful and I love cities especially big ones like London and New York!
  3. Zimbabwe – My partner comes from Zimbabwe so I’d like to visit this country with him as I think it would be special. I’d like to specifically go to Harare and maybe get a chance to visit Victoria falls as well.
  4. Canada – I’d like to visit Ottawa as it looks really nice there and I’d love to go to Montreal and Vancouver as well as I heard you can do lots of activities at Vancouver like whale watching.
  5. Nepal – I would love to visit Nepal because it looks beautiful and very scenic, I’d love to go to Kathmandu specifically.
  6. Switzerland – Switzerland looks like a really beautiful country, I’d like to visit Geneva and The old city of Berne because I’d like to experience some traditional lifestyle and see some picturesque towns and cities.
  7. Finland – Now I have been to Helsinki but I haven’t explored anywhere in detail. But I know Finland is home to some very interesting and beautiful places. I think I’d like to go to Lapland in the North of Finland, explore Helsinki in great depth and see Northern Lights.
  8. Chile – I think it would be really nice to visit Chile, I know there are many things to see and do such as stargazing and I’d like to experience another culture. I think it’s also a very beautiful country with great scenic views.
  9. China – I have been to Japan before but I would like to visit China, specifically Shanghai and the Great wall of China. I’d like to visit places such as the Forbidden city/palace museum and Hangzhou as I’ve heard that’s very beautiful.
  10. Italy – There’s lots of places in Italy I would love to visit, places like Florence, Venice, Milan and Rome especially. There’s so much to see and do and I want to be able to experience historical architecture and appreciate it. I also love to ride on a gondola, see the last supper painting and get to see the Colosseum.

These are just 10 of a long list of places I want to travel to, so if you’re country is not on here be assured it is probably on the full list! 🙂
