30 day photo challenge – day 18 natural beauty

Hey everyone!

Sorry I haven’t posted the 30 day photo challenge in a while (I think I missed like 2/3 days) but that’s because it was my partners birthday over the weekend! Hooray 🙂 not only that but I have a lot of essays due these upcoming weeks and I find it hard to work up the motivation to blog straight after I’ve just finished a long essay! So apologies 🙂

However I’m going to post the missing photos now and that way I would’ve caught up to the right day 🙂

So day 18 is natural beauty! And the photo I have chosen is of a bunch of roses I got on valentines day because roses are incredibly beautiful and completely natural! 🙂

March is here! – PERFUME REVIEWS

Image

So it’s finally March and soon I am hoping the better weather will follow as well, the kind of days when it’s sunny and you can smell the flowers and it just feels like a great day! Also I am currently in the process of sorting out a giveaway for when I reach 100 followers on Bloglovin – so stick around because I’m gathering some super bits for you all! 🙂

Anyway so I thought I would review a few of my favourite perfumes at the moment and let you all know a little about them & why they’re currently my favourites! So to start with I have…

  • Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Body Mist – 250ml
So I never really admired any Victoria Secret merchandise until I actually ventured into their store in Sheffield and I loved everything! Their perfumes were just divine, but I actually brought a body mist (Not perfume I know! But deserved a review) and I thought that instead of paying a lot of money for a perfume I was unsure about I would try the body mist first and I am so so happy with this purchase, it was rather expensive I think it was like ÂŁ22 which for me is expensive just for body mist but it is so beautiful that I didn’t mind! It smells so sweet but not overpowering and it lasts for a long time which is excellent, I brought mine in January and it’s still practically full! 🙂
  • Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush Eau de Parfum Spray 30ml
I got this as a present from my parents for my birthday and it smells lovely, it’s floral and light and is definitely a great buy! I never have tried or brought any of Vera Wang perfumes before and this has set the standards high for future perfumes!
  • Herve Leger Femme – 50ml
I noticed this perfume online and also in the Avon catalogue for those of you from Britain, I got this and I had low expectations for it at first because it was never a brand I’ve ever heard of however I had heard good things about it however I was still skeptical. But it was and still is (I say ‘is’ because I have two bottles still!) a really beautiful smelling perfume, it’s fresh and floral but also smells different from other perfumes I have smelt because it has distinctive notes in the smell – It’s not to fruity or girly but the right amount to be sophisticated and fresh.

The First Time I watched Life Of Pi…

So last night I watched The Life Of Pi, anyone who has read my previous posts and my about me section will know I absolutely love movies! So since last night I watched the film and I decided to do a little review on it, it’ll only be small because as we all know it came out last year so it’s not new but I’m doing it for the people who may not have seen it! 🙂

Okay so the introduction into the story was good and smooth but perhaps took a little too long to get into the actual story of things, which for some people can be a problem as they become disinterested! but if you give it a chance and persevere then the story itself is quite cool as it goes along. One of the things I didn’t like is that the trailer made the film out to be magical which is was but there was a lot of gore and emotional parts to it as well, something which touched a nerve (as the saying goes) when I watched it. There were parts where I felt happy and enjoyed it but the beginning itself of the actual story and some parts throughout were really quite shocking in my opinion, some parts of the story as well skipped itself I believe like at one point there was a shark circling Pi on a tiny raft and then it skipped to him on a boat and the shark no where around…

Overall the story itself is a little bit crazy (Meerkats randomly on an island in the ocean that no one has ever heard of or seen?) but I guess that’s part of the whole magical experience that Pi went through, it’s more of a story about Pi finding belief than anything – which is nice. So in all don’t judge the film till you see it, it’s more adventurous and dramatic than you probably think! 🙂

Tips for living a happy life at University

Living a happy life at University is a lot harder than the media will have you believe, juggling coursework and revision as well as exams and still going to lectures and seminars is something that gets a lot of students disheartened every year. Now I’m not saying students don’t drink, party, stay out late or do stupid things because the majority do but behind that is the constant struggle to keep up with everything.
So with this article I thought I would share some tips that I have heard before! 🙂

  1. If you feel you chose the wrong course then change and as quick as you can – make sure you think through whether it is just first month blues of being a uni or whether its a genuine hate for the course itself then make the decision to change it.
  2. Make friends with people in halls and outside of halls – don’t just recluse yourself to the people you live with because the probability is you might find people that you share lots in common with outside of your accommodation as well. Also try to make friends with people on your course so you look forward to going to seminars and lectures and you wont be sitting alone.
  3. Try to meet all deadlines and don’t leave everything to the last minute – that can make even the strongest of people feel unmotivated.
  4. Try your best – If you don’t get the grade you want in a piece of coursework or exam, try again or seek some assistance as there are plenty of people willing to help you such as professors and peers.
  5. Don’t ever be pressured into something – you make your own choices, no-one is going to think you’re uncool if you don’t do something stupid and if they do then that person is clearly not mature enough and not worth your time anyway.
  6. If you don’t understand something then ask – I’ve made this mistake endlessly I’ve been to shy or high on pride to ask for help and often misunderstood the task, it’s so much easier and less cringy to ask for help than mess it up!
  7. Homesickness is a big factor – if you’re feeling homesick give home a quick call or get in touch and if that doesn’t help try to occupy yourself by hanging out with people or doing something you love like reading or gaming. Now I still get homesick and all it takes for me to feel better is spending time with my partner, ringing home or getting a motivational talk from my dad 🙂
  8. Don’t go out alone at night – this is an all round rule, one of the worst mistakes is thinking ‘nothing bad will happen to me’ because that’s when you’re off guard and most vulnerable. If it is necessary to go out alone make sure someone knows where you’re going to make sure you’re safe.
  9. Try to get a part time job – extra money = more happiness.
  10. Try not to spend all your money – I met a girl on freshers that spent all her money on clubbing and had nothing to live off for the next month or so and this is a regular occurrence  we’d all love to buy a new wardrobe but sadly at the end of the day when you haven’t even got enough for a take away or some shopping is when you regret spontaneous spending most.
