What To Bring To University – Advice From A Student

Okay so you’ll see things on the internet and stuff telling you all this crazy stuff you’re meant to bring to university with you when you leave home, many shops and retailers take advantage of this and try and push lots of deals on¬†stuff and things onto you as well but from experience I can tell you what you will need as a rough guideline! ūüôā

Do Bring:

  • Your bedding – Otherwise you’ll freeze to death when it’s cold at night! Some Universities may already give you bedding so double check before you make your trip.
  • Your documents – VERY essential, bring passports, driving licenses, bank cards, important letters and details with you. Best idea is to buy a small plastic wallet and store them all in there¬†in case¬†you need them, which you¬†definitely¬†will.
  • Any sentimental things – Well that was an obvious one right? Unless you want to leave them at home.
  • Room decorations – University rooms are notoriously plain and bland, soon the walls will drive you mad! Bring some posters, fairy lights, plants (I had a mint plant but it died cause the sun killed it ūüė¶ ) and such to brighten up your room and make you feel more at home and happy. I brought posters, drawings, wall art and a lava lamp ūüėÄ
  • Your clothes, Make-up and other essentials – Another obvious one.
  • Cutlery, cups and Kitchen ware – Do not assume you’ll need one set just for you because when you make friends or your boyfriend comes round for dinner and they haven’t got anything to eat off of they wont be happy, plus lots of it will probably go missing or get lost as well, always clever to have more than one set. Do not buy anything fancy, you’re going to university no one worries what sort of kitchen ware you have, plus most students take plates and pans from home that their parents do not need anyway. (Most Universities supply a kettle, ironing board and microwave but double check with yours if they do!)
  • Notepads – It is probably best to run to poundland or 99p store and grab a few lined notepads before you come as they’ll be cheaper do not buy loads assuming you’ll use every page because I doubt you will in the end.
  • Medical kit – You will need this at some point most likely, stock it with painkillers, bandages, plasters, disinfectant and other little bits in case of emergencies as it is always handy.
  • An alarm clock – Unless you use your phone like me you will need something to wake you up in the morning for those lectures and seminars!
  • Laptop – Bring your laptop because obviously you’ll need it for coursework and such plus entertainment ūüėÄ
  • TV – Now some uni’s may not have televisions within your room but they may have a communal TV or none at all in which case you can consider bringing your own but TV licensing will be quite pricey!
  • Optional things – Such as stereo, xbox and ps3, board games, sport equipment, mp3 players etc.

Do not bring things you wont use or need – they will eventually take up to much space!

Five Things I Won’t Miss When I Leave University Halls

So this July I am moving into our new apartment for our second year at University and to say I am excited is an understatement! Halls has been a roller coaster of crazy times, there was times when I played pranks, times when my flatmates drove me insane, times when we all argued over the cleanliness of the flat, so now it is coming to end I decided to share ten things I¬†definitely¬†won’t be missing! ūüôā

  1. The sound of my flatmates playing their guitars at like 2am in the morning or watching a film on full volume in the early hours of the morning.
  2. The arguments over who takes the bin out because it gets left so long the person who has to take it out has to make at least two trips from our 3rd floor flat to the bins.
  3. Walking up and down three flights of stairs everyday.
  4. Not having enough space to keep my clothes or things because my room is so tiny!
  5. People stealing my food, it’ll be great to be able to go shopping for food and actually eat what I buy.

So that’s five small things I am rather looking forward to not being in halls, hope you enjoyed it ūüôā

Collection 2000 Colour Pout Lip stain Review

I brought this about a week ago in a local beauty store because I was getting fed up of my lipstick not staying all day and I love beautiful vibrant lips!

The shade I got was in Kiss which is like a dark pinkish/natural sort of shade I guess it could be said, I had a tough time picking which one out of the collection was closest to my natural lips and it happened to be this one because my lips are naturally quite dark pink anyway.

So once I got home I excitedly tried it on and found that it was super easy to apply to my lips and wasn’t bulky or thick either like some others. Because it is shaped as if it was a pencil it makes it easy to draw the outline of your lips which is something that most girls dream about! Instead of fussing over smudges or uneven lines or application.
I also love the taste and smell of it as well, sounds pretty weird and I’m not sure if that’s a feature of the product or just me – but something that smells good and¬†doesn’t¬†leave a horrid taste in your mouth¬†if¬†it¬†accidentally¬†gets in there is a win by my standards.

Well anyway with long lasting durability, great easy application and¬†beautiful¬†shade of colours I’d rate this quite highly.
