Hello, Bonjour, Konnichiwa, Hola! March/April Catch Up

Image

So for this little post I thought that I would sum up the beginning of this month & last month in a little collage because it’s cute,
I love to see little collages on other’s blogs because I like to see the little photo’s they choose and what they represent!

So from top left going right we have 1. Me in glasses! I went to the opticians and I found out I need glasses for reading ย 2. Me and my partner went for a walk around the local park and he brought me a portion of traditional chips (The kind you get at the seaside! which I love love love!) so that was super nice 3. A really lovely quote that I need to start listening to because I worry to much over the past and to much over the future 4. A little photo of me and my partner messing around 5. A photo of a ladybird I took whilst I was walking home 6. Daffodils! I love them especially because they’re all in bloom this time of year 7. A photo from my partner’s 20th birthday! 8. Another little picture of the park (Excuse the watermark, I’m working on it!) that we walk around sometimes for a nice break of fresh air and finally 9. NANDO’S! we went to nando’s for my partners birthday and it was amazing as usual, I really love nando’s particularly the chicken wrap! ๐Ÿ™‚

So that’s my little update, how have you all been? Is there anything you like specifically in this post then let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ™‚

30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 12 LOVE

(Super lovey dovey post ahead! But don’t we all love a good lovey dovey post now & then anyway? ๐Ÿ™‚ )

So yesterday was day 12 of my photo challenge and the keyword was love which is such a simple but strong little four letter word.

My photo I chose was actually a collage I made (cheating a bit as I didn’t actually take a photo but made a collage) however I think it best sums up love for me.

20140306-081434.jpg

This is my partner, the reason I am using him for day 12 is because he showed me what loving someone and being loved was like (I’m talking about romantically, not the family kind of love) the kind of love that you feel when you think you’ve found your soulmate or the person you feel you could spend your life with and never feel bored.

That’s how I feel about my partner I’m in love with him for many reasons; we are best friends, we know every little thing about each other and we have so much in common, he makes me feel confident and like I can do anything, he does so much to make sure I’m happy and he’s just overall wonderful in my eyes.

I won’t lie though like all relationships we’ve had some super tough times and arguments but we always come out of them learning, forgiving and making steps forwards rather than backwards – there for each other through thick and thin ๐Ÿ™‚

Well hope you enjoyed my little day twelve post for yesterday. Today day 13 is a film! And shall be uploaded later ๐Ÿ™‚

Comment or follow me on twitter/blog loving or WordPress! ๐Ÿ™‚

30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 4 PET/ANIMAL

I was meant to post this yesterday however I had a ton of uni work to do first and then I fell asleep so sorry for posting a day late! But my picture is one I took of my fish, they are white mountain minnows and a zebra danio, the picture isn’t so clear because it was hard as they are so so so tiny! But they’re super cute ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve had pets before but sadly I do not have any photos of them to share ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but I’ll always remember them ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway here are my fishies & today’s photo is FLOWERS DAY 5 so that’ll be up tonight ๐Ÿ™‚

Would 8 year old me be proud of me right now?

So I saw an interesting question quite a lot of people have posed and it’s would 8 year old me be proud of me right now at this point in my life if they could see me? So I thought I’d find my own answer to this because no one else can answer this for me obviously ๐Ÿ™‚

When I was 8 I wanted to be a baker with my dad, a gymnast, a ballerina, an army cadet, a teacher and a vet just to name a few but you name it I have probably wanted to be that profession once in my younger years.

But how did it all turn out so far? Well I believe that if 8 year old me could see me now, they would be proud and there’s many reasons for this…

1. I’m at university, something which I always looked up to my siblings for and I knew since I was little I wanted to go to university to get a degree and the job I always wanted.
2. I have met someone who I think the world of and they think the world of me back! When I was little I would think about meeting someone significant and falling in love like it was in the movies I’d watch and books I’d read. 8 year old me never really believed in fate or even knew it existed but I can say in my opinion that now I know it exists and I think little me would be proud of this discovery.
3. I have travelled and intend to travel to many other countries. When I was little I dreamed about travelling to all the different countries, spinning my globe and pinning my finger on a random place when it stopped spinning was something I loved doing! (Although most of the time my finger ended up pointing to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!)
4. I have finally gained the confidence boost I needed, when I was in primary school and also a part of secondary school I was called “Mary mouse” because I was so quiet and I was scared of everything! But now that part of me seems like a distant memory ๐Ÿ™‚
5. In general I’d say I have come a long way, I have learnt a lot, experienced a lot and just overcome obstacles and such which 8 year old me never would have even realised existed. Along with this 8 year old me would’ve been happy to know that my little family back then has now expanded and I am an auntie to 5 lovely children as well as being a godmother and having a closer relationship with all my siblings and parents among other achievements ๐Ÿ™‚

So my answer is probably yes 8 year old me would be proud of me if they could see me now because I’m exactly where I want to be in life at the moment, working towards what I want and growing up twelve years on I have gained a lot.

I do have a picture of me at 8 but I won’t post it because it’s too cringy! but thank you for reading, feel free to follow or like ๐Ÿ™‚

Paper Towns By John Green – Book Review!

“She loved mysteries so much she became one”ย

I love love love to read, well only if it is a book I get into completely because I hate reading books which do not capture me because I know I will end up giving up reading it and then would’ve felt kinda crappy about not finishing something someone spent a majority of their life writing but that’s just me. The kind of books I tend to go for are a little older than young adult, I don’t like anything too serious or morbid and prefer something with a little lighthearted tone or underlying message, however contradicting myself I must admit I did and still do enjoy the ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’ series by Lemony Snicket.

However enough rambling! I brought ‘Paper Towns’ by John Green after reading another one of his books called ‘Looking For Alaska’, now I was really impressed with ‘Looking For Alaska’ and I initially got it because I saw on the GoodReads website that it was popular and well recommended and after reading it (took me four days) I can see why! However I wont start talking about that book because I am here to write a review about ‘Paper Towns’, the book itself is witty and filled with funny passages as well as parts that as a teenager or young adult (even an adult!) you can relate to which makes the book itself all that much more appealing.

There is something special about how the book itself is written and how the characters and their internal and external relationships with each other are portrayed, but I also loved that this book was unlike any other I have ever read it was not the generic plot I was expecting but something much more different and inspiring as well as adventurous!

(SPOILERS BELOW SCROLL DOWN TO KEEP READING)

The story itself is in short about a boy calledย Quentin Jacobsen and his fascination and love for a wild and adventurous girl calledย Margo Roth Spiegelman whom he does not speak to at all until one night she requests his help getting her revenge on those who have wronged her and we are thrown into a world of revenge, love, fun and adventure while we follow their night of mischief however the following morning when Quentin arrives at school Margo is no where to be found and she has disappeared! At this point in the book I was like “Ahhh where did she go! I hope nothing bad has happened to her!” but to my relief the rest of the novel follows Quentin and his friends on a road trip following clues Margo has purposely and non purposely left for them to follow all over the place near and far which leads them to her in the end to a place far away where Margo admits she left and her and Quentin say goodbye once again.

So all in all it was an excellent book which I will read again and again because it is a favourite of mine! Pick it up and have a read if you feel like this is the book for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you enjoyed my review!

Being In A Serious Relationship & How It Is Viewed Today

Okay so this is a mini rant/discussion of my view point on a subject which rears it’s ugly head from time to time and it is about the response and attitude from other people towards those in a serious relationship especially those in one at what some would call a ‘young’ age.

I am happily in a serious relationship with my partner and we are coming up to another anniversary this September and I cannot wait! but I want to discuss the amount of times people have not taken our relationship seriously or disregarded it because we are ‘young’. I am 20 this October and my partner is also twenty within a few months of my birthday.ย We got together when we were both 17 after knowing each other for 7 years and being best friends,ย we are like two peas in a pod our personalities are so similar and our senses of humor compliment each other and we enjoy each others company to say the least so it seemed ridiculous not to develop this further and now we have been in a wonderful, stable and strong relationship and we are still going strong but along the way we have both received negativity from others whether that be people the same age as us or older because some people ย inย today’sย society do not seem to believe in the ability of a stable and long lasting relationship like they used to and now when someone says they are in a relationship the first thing people usually guess is how long it’ll last – which is sad really ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Me and my partner have discussed our future, we know what we both want from life and what we are aiming for and we have even discussed marriage, having children in the future and where we would like to live, we have made solid plans and despite this people today still believe that the theory of wanting a lifetime with one specific person is ridiculous or impossible but it’s not, not if you both want it and are willing to work and fight for it.
I just believe if someone says they are in a serious relationship and intend of being with that person a long time, instead of guessing how long it’ll last or who will hurt who first, congratulate them for being able to have a monogamous relationship ๐Ÿ™‚

What I believe is this: I know he is the one for me because Iย couldn’tย ever imagine a life where he didn’t exist, he is theย reflectionย of me and I have thought seriously long and hard about our relationship and so has he and we both want each other for the rest of our lifetimes. Yes I may be of a young age to have found my ‘one’ but I am happy I found him so young because it means I have more of a lifetime with him, means I will have more time to learn and grow and having a serious relationship does not stop me from being able to complete ambitions or dreams in life like some people may object, it just means that I have someone to share them with and that helps to motivate me ๐Ÿ™‚

So that is my little rant over ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you enjoyed.
