What three things do you blog about most: My blog is a mish mash of the things I love, but my most frequent posts are; outfit posts, beauty reviews of highstreet products and celeb style posts.

Name three words to describe your blog: Oh this is a hard one! Laid Back, Eclectic, Fun.

When did you first start blogging: I started blogging in 2011, but didn’t really blog for a lot of 2012 because I kind of lost my blogging mojo! I started again in February this year and I love it more than ever and feeling so inspired.

Why did you begin to blog: I stumbled across Lily Melrose’s blog (llymlrs.com) one day on the interweb and thought it was such a great way of showcasing your own personal style! I was looking for a new hobby at the time and decided I’d give it a go!

What’s one blogging tip that you would share with other potential bloggers: Be yourself and write about the things you love. Don’t feel pressure to be like other bloggers and write about/review the exact same stuff as them. If you write about the things that interest you, in your own way, people will take notice and appreciate it much more.

Do you see yourself still blogging in three/five years time: I’m a “take it a day at a time” kinda gal as you don’t know what’s around the corner. But I would like to think I’ll still be blogging in the future as it has become a big part of my life. I’m not sure I’d still be blogging about the exact same things in 5 years time, but who knows!

What’s one of the best things about being a blogger: Definitely the people you get to interact with! There are so many lovely people I’ve talked to that I would never have the opportunity to chat to if it wasn’t for blogging 🙂

Has blogging helped you significantly in any other way: It has made me challenge myself style wise and I’m not afraid to try new things. I put more thought into what I’m wearing now and how I style it. It’s helped me find bargain beauty products, thanks to all the amazing beauty bloggers out there. It has also put a significant dent in my bank balance 😉

I’d like to thank Denise for taking part and for her lovely answers! 🙂

Style Icon: Emma Stone

We know her from films such as Easy A, The Amazing Spider Man and Superbad but she isn’t just famous for her acting abilities, this actress is also famous as a style icon as well! Emma Stone has on countless occasions appeared on the front and in those glossy magazines we love so much making a debut as a style icon for females worldwide. So I thought as she is one of my favourite actresses I would do a little style icon collaboration post on her wardrobe! Enjoy 🙂

Image

Emma has a bright and colourful wardrobe that is not limited to anything, her style choices represent her personality in many ways and you can see that her generally happy demeanor is aired through her style choices of vibrant pieces with a range of colours and styles.

In the first photo we have Emma Stone wearing a bright flamingo pink outfit which oozes playful yet sophisticated vibes, in the next photo we have Emma modelling a kingfisher blue item of clothing these bright colours show that she is not afraid to be bold and won’t stick to just plain colours such as beige or grey. In the last two photo’s she is wearing a red embellished cocktail dress and black heels and in the other a floral dress, both of which accentuate her figure and complexion. Good choices!

10 Little Things About Me

Okay so I thought I would do ten little things I may not have mentioned before about me and I hope this helps you to feel like you know me better 🙂 Enjoy!

  1. I used to be Hello Kitty crazy – Quite literally not long ago everything I had was Hello Kitty, some may see it as babyish but quite a few people saw it as cute and I liked it so went with it. Now I am older I sort of fell out of love with the idea of Hello Kitty now I just buy my nieces pieces of clothing and things with it on instead of myself!
  2. I am not a big fan of the sun – This sounds weird, but sometimes I do not like the sun at all and would prefer if it rained or snowed. Although I am partial to some sunbathing when it is sunny outside!
  3. I was to scared to read the Goosebumps books – FACT. The front covers scared me and I never read them at all and probably wont ever.
  4. I am rather tall – Around about 5’8 – 5’9 something which I love and hate at the same time.
  5. I always used swap career aspirations – Until now I have always swapped career aspirations, you name it I wanted to be it once. Nurse, army soldier, firefighter, baker, lawyer, teacher… the list goes on but I think that partly is because when you’re growing up you do not know what you want to be therefore you imagine most jobs in a blissful and spectacular way when in reality there are advantages and disadvantages in every occupation. Now I am set on being a fashion journalist/editor and I am working towards that!
  6. I have a double jointed thumb – It sounds gross when you say it, but if you Google it or whatever all it means is my thumb can move back further than usual, hard to explain I am sure there are some YouTube videos you can watch that would explain it better visually 🙂
  7. I love pets – I used to have to 2 Russian Dwarf hamsters, a goldfish named Jaws that came from the circus and a German Shepard dog 🙂
  8. I used to be a tomboy – I cringe every time I think back to how I dressed and looked.
  9. This time last year I was worrying about… – Getting into University and getting a job!
  10. In A level we studied Frankenstein and Dracula, out of the two Franky was by far the best book and I learnt Dracula was just a book about sexually frustrated people according to my teacher.

Well that’s all hope you enjoyed 🙂

Summer Favourite: Sweet Pastels

This Summer there are many trends to be released and I thought I would focus on one specific one – Pastels. Pastels make some of the best colours for outfits because of the sweet innocent hues that are used, and it will be big this Summer! So I thought that I would show you guys some of the best pastel pieces that will be around! 🙂

Baby pink, powder blue, sweet honey yellow, mint green and summer orange are all big hits this Summer and I love them! They look so beautiful as an outfit or as an accessory and I think it gives the right impression of Summer, something sweet and playful.

Nail Art Appreciation

Okay so I love nail art! Nothing is better than perfectly cute and pretty nails that stand out and are super colourful! Although I do not really do much nail art on my own nails I really appreciate and love looking online at all the different ideas and designs! I once learnt a really cool way to get marble nail art from a few different YouTube clips so I was thinking I may try and do it again and then write a blog post on the outcome with some pictures of course! 🙂 I wanted to share some of my favourite looking nail art that I found online with you guys as well, some of them make me jealous!

In the future I am thinking of keeping the idea of nail art appreciation for a monthly blog post where I will ask followers to send in some photos of theirs for me to put on the post, So watch this space 🙂 P.s. Also got offered a Social Media and Blogging Internship for a fashion website! eeeep! 🙂

What To Bring To University – Advice From A Student

Okay so you’ll see things on the internet and stuff telling you all this crazy stuff you’re meant to bring to university with you when you leave home, many shops and retailers take advantage of this and try and push lots of deals on stuff and things onto you as well but from experience I can tell you what you will need as a rough guideline! 🙂

Do Bring:

  • Your bedding – Otherwise you’ll freeze to death when it’s cold at night! Some Universities may already give you bedding so double check before you make your trip.
  • Your documents – VERY essential, bring passports, driving licenses, bank cards, important letters and details with you. Best idea is to buy a small plastic wallet and store them all in there in case you need them, which you definitely will.
  • Any sentimental things – Well that was an obvious one right? Unless you want to leave them at home.
  • Room decorations – University rooms are notoriously plain and bland, soon the walls will drive you mad! Bring some posters, fairy lights, plants (I had a mint plant but it died cause the sun killed it 😦 ) and such to brighten up your room and make you feel more at home and happy. I brought posters, drawings, wall art and a lava lamp 😀
  • Your clothes, Make-up and other essentials – Another obvious one.
  • Cutlery, cups and Kitchen ware – Do not assume you’ll need one set just for you because when you make friends or your boyfriend comes round for dinner and they haven’t got anything to eat off of they wont be happy, plus lots of it will probably go missing or get lost as well, always clever to have more than one set. Do not buy anything fancy, you’re going to university no one worries what sort of kitchen ware you have, plus most students take plates and pans from home that their parents do not need anyway. (Most Universities supply a kettle, ironing board and microwave but double check with yours if they do!)
  • Notepads – It is probably best to run to poundland or 99p store and grab a few lined notepads before you come as they’ll be cheaper do not buy loads assuming you’ll use every page because I doubt you will in the end.
  • Medical kit – You will need this at some point most likely, stock it with painkillers, bandages, plasters, disinfectant and other little bits in case of emergencies as it is always handy.
  • An alarm clock – Unless you use your phone like me you will need something to wake you up in the morning for those lectures and seminars!
  • Laptop – Bring your laptop because obviously you’ll need it for coursework and such plus entertainment 😀
  • TV – Now some uni’s may not have televisions within your room but they may have a communal TV or none at all in which case you can consider bringing your own but TV licensing will be quite pricey!
  • Optional things – Such as stereo, xbox and ps3, board games, sport equipment, mp3 players etc.

Do not bring things you wont use or need – they will eventually take up to much space!

4 Ways To Beat Tired Eyes

Okay so we all have those late nights right? You may have to work night shifts, you may be someone who goes out clubbing every night without fail or maybe you’re just nocturnal to say the least! Whatever the reason we all get tired looking eyes and sometimes this can be a real problem – especially if you have an interview or seminar the next day and don’t want to look as if you’ve been out on a all nighter! So when I get tired eyes there are a few ways that I make sure they disappear and fast! I’m going to share them with you 🙂

  1. Cucumber – I never liked using this before because I didn’t think it would work, that and the fact that I hate the smell of it as well and being  a student I’m not going to waste a pound on a smelly vegetable but I did and I am happy about it because it refreshes my eyes. After reading a glowing article on the magic of the cucumber I went and brought one, cut it and placed it over my eyes and napped for a good 5 hours…Now I’m pretty sure that combination of napping and the cucumber worked because my eyes looked normal and a little healthier afterwards! Plus it was very relaxing.
  2. Garnier Caffeine eye roll-on – Something which I used to use ages ago when I was back at home and my mum had some laying around or in a make up bag. It’s like a caffeine shot for your eyes but a little better I guess. The moisture is nice when applied to the bottom and top of your eyelids and once it soaks in it feels lovely.
  3. Cold Water – Generally when I wake up and feel all icky and sleepy still I love to just splash my face with some ice cold water, it’s refreshing but make sure the water is not to cold no one likes brain freeze!
  4. Eye Drops – Now some people are against these and some are for these but it’s down to personal opinion I guess, I’ve used two different types of eye drops and the first one was nice a small bottle that was mostly purified water but it never really changed the redness of my tired eyes however the second one I used is also a small bottle but its got salt in it and stings, however this one clears the redness from my eyes. So when picking one just make sure its legit.

Well I hope that helps if you guys have tired, puffy or red eyes after a late night 🙂

Vintage Clothing? Yes Please! – UpStaged Vintage in Leeds

In the heart of the voluminous and vibrant city of Leeds lies a beautiful shop full to the brim of vintage clothing from the 40’s right through until the late 80’s. I love this shop because of the sense of nostalgia and antique about it! So after emailing they kindly agreed to let me use some of their professional pictures so I could do a review about some of their brilliantly beautiful pieces of clothing! 🙂

I love this American Indian jumper/dress! It’s called the ‘Navaho Design Jumper’ and I love how it looks so inviting and warm, yet comfortable and vintage all at the same time. The patterning is bright and eye catching which is always a great aspect of a popular fashion piece, I also enjoy the thrills at the end and the fact it can be worn both as a dress or a jumper and can be combined with leggings or tights to create the individual look you want.

This next one comes from their 60’s range and is called the ‘Bronze Organza Prom Dress’ and I love it! The patterning and material seem to match perfectly and the colour is perfectly flattering, this is a wonderful choice of dress for anyone looking to accentuate their figure.

2662_2_big  2662_1_big

Lastly I really do adore this dress it’s so colourful and spontaneous! The dress itself is called ‘Pink and Black Velvet Flock Prom Dress’, personally I love the vibrant patterning and clash of colours that go so well and it goes perfectly with tights and the right pair of shoes! This shop has really impressed me with their vintage and unique range of clothing from the nostalgic era’s and I’m more than pleased to write a review for these fabulous pieces of clothing! I suggest to everyone that they take a look inside their shop before everything sells out! 🙂
