30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 14 HANDMADE

So I went looking for something I handmade around my flat because today is the keyword ‘Handmade’. I love to make things, I’d say I am creative but whether I am any good at it is another story! The reason I love making things is because I personally find it fun and relaxing, so I tend to spend my time doing some arty things when I am not overflowed with coursework or doing seminar reading for uni! 🙂

The handmade item I chose is something I did last Summer after a day spent in London, my partner knows I love sharks so brought me a 3D wooden shark model kit to construct from the natural history museum so I spent a whole afternoon fixing all the pieces together to make a 3D shark and then I painted it! 🙂

Any things that you like to make or are proud of having made? Let me know! 🙂

Saturday Blogger Interviews – Blogger Amyloo

Image

Name: Amyloo

Location: Oxfordshire (UK)

Age: 17 (Almost 18!)

Blog link: http://amyloosworld.blogspot.co.uk

Facebook/Twitter: https://www.facebook.com/AmyMaddisonFineArtist & https://twitter.com/AmyloosTweets

What three things do you blog about most: I mainly write about art, books and beauty. But I have many passions so I always make room for fashion, lifestyle and music related posts to. (I like to call it ‘The home of creativity’).

Name three words to describe your blog: Creative, inspirational and fun!

When did you first start blogging: I first started blogging just over a month ago (sometime in April) and I’m so glad I did!

Why did you begin to blog: You could say up until the point I first started blogging, my life hadn’t turned out quite how I’d envisioned. I needed a rather large distraction, a place where I could sit back, relax and be myself. As a child I was an incredibly enthusiastic writer, so I was a little shocked that blogging had never occurred to me before. On top of that I was also looking to build meaningful relationships with other bloggers (that’s you guys *cough* Mary *cough*). Overall though its my passions that formed ‘AmyloosWorld’.

What’s one blogging tip that you would share with other potential bloggers: I would say never ignore the other wonderful bloggers around you. We shouldn’t forget we’re all in the same boat here. Each and every one of us have something to share in the blogosphere, so just be selfless and help anybody in need of it (in any possible way that you can). You’ll meet some amazing people and maybe even build life-long friendships; in turn they’ll give you the love and support you need to make your blog a success. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Do you see yourself still blogging in three/five years time: (Is this a trick question?) OF COURSE! Writing comes naturally to me; I don’t think it will ever just disappear. I enjoy every second and want it to last forever! (Don’t you?).

What’s one of the best things about being a blogger: Doing what I love is extremely important to me; it keeps me excited and content (you have this duty that was never there before, and you want to fulfil it). On a more personal note, the best thing to happen so far to me as a blogger is meeting Mary and completing my first commission. I have to give her all the credit for interviewing me and promoting my work on her blog (cheers to Mary!). I also love the rush of happiness you get when someone new starts following. It’s heart-warming to know that people love reading what I write (a few years ago I would have laughed in my own face).

Has blogging helped you significantly in any other way: It’s helped me feel much more confident about my appearance and my sense of style. All of a sudden I’ve grasped who I really am (something I was previously unsure of). It’s certainly changed my life for the better. Even though I can’t predict the future, this journey of self-discovery is definitely worth the time spent.

Blogging, Reading, Beauty, Fashion, Gaming, Travelling – Insight into a few of my hobbies!

Mostly everyone has hobbies! Some people like horse riding others prefer baking or sewing but I thought I would share with my you guys a few of my hobbies! So you guys get to know me a little better 🙂

  • I love reading! I love all genres and I think my top three favourites would have to be John Green’s Paper Towns and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Finding Alaska also by John Green. I can read for hours if I have a good book and nothing to do, in my eyes sometimes it is like an escape to a different place and time 🙂
  • One of my other hobbies has to be gaming. I have been playing on games consoles since I was very young starting with my SEGA drive! From growing up playing sonic and tails on SEGA I grew up to love playing PlayStation and Xbox as well.
  • Obviously I have a passion for blogging, beauty and fashion otherwise I wouldn’t be doing what I love to do which is blog about all those things. I enjoy blogging and having new followers and getting to look at everyone else’s unique blogs too 🙂
  • I have previously wrote a post about my love for travelling and the wanderlust that I have for it. In the future after University I aim to travel to many places and make it an avid hobby.
  • In the picture below you will see a painting set and that is because in my free time I like to paint and draw as much as I can, I find it relaxing and enjoyable 🙂
  • If I’m not reading a good book or a newspaper then I’m 100% likely to be devouring a fashion magazine, I love them it’s a sweet simple addiction.
  • Finally I love to bake cakes, cookies or anything sweet! I like cooking but nothing is more fun than baking! 🙂

Well I hope you liked that little insight into my hobbies 🙂 Follow/Like.

Liquid Eyeliner Vs. Pencil Eyeliner?

Make up – We all love it, hate it, wear it, try it, have loads of it or none of it! So I was taking a look through my make up bag and decided that I was going to do a post on the Pro’s and Con’s of both liquid eyeliner and pencil eyeliner because it seems people prefer one or the other! Hope you enjoy 🙂

LIQUID EYELINER

Pro’s:

  • Some people find it very easy to apply.
  • The brush is thinner making it very precise.
  • It stands out much more compared to pencil.
  • Liquid is sometimes easier to get off when your taking your make up off.
  • Tends to last longer compared to pencil eyeliner.

Con’s:

  • Others tend to find it much harder to apply thus making a mess over their eyelids and such.
  • It can sometimes run into your eye if you do it to close the the corners or if you do it wrong.
  • It can be hard to master ‘the flick’.
  • Smudges very easily especially if you do not let it dry completely.

PENCIL EYELINER

Pro’s:

  • Gives a more natural softer look.
  • Some make up lovers say it is easier to apply.
  • Lasts longer than other eyeliners with regards to shelf life.
  • Doesn’t dry out.

Con’s:

  • You have to sharpen the pencil every so often.
  • It can sometimes hurt during the application process on the eyelid if the pencil is too sharp or too blunt.
  • It wears off and does not last as long as liquid eyeliner.
  • Can be affected by heat and cause a smudging effect around the eyelids.

So I hope this helps somewhat for anyone looking for some advice about pencil or liquid eyeliner, at the end of the day it is narrowed down to personal preference and choice.
