30 Day Photo Challenge – DAY 17 RAIN

So day seventeen is rain, miraculously in England the weather has been rather sunny the past few days when in fact it’s usually raining! so that made this day in the challenge the hardest yet and I had to think outside the box. So instead of just going in my shower and splashing the water around and calling that rain I decided to choose a photo I took back in November on Fireworks night and explain 🙂

So the idea behind this photo is that the fireworks are the rain in this sense and the colours are bursting out like beads of rainfall 🙂

NOTD – Nail Paint In Cyan Blue (294) By Barry M Review

I wasn’t very interested in painting my nails until I got into secondary school when it was key to always have brightly coloured and vibrant nails, I never really took an interest in Barry M until then and I didn’t really like the brand to start with as I thought it was too runny and didn’t dry quick enough but now years later I am happily buying Barry M nail varnishes with a smile on my face because I love the colours and types! 🙂

So the other week I brought another Barry M nail varnish because I was complaining that I didn’t have any summer colours in my nail varnish collection! So I went and I brought cyan blue which is a light blue but not too light that it turns into a pastel blue.

I love this colour because it is so light and summery, I like blues as well which is probably why I picked it 🙂

Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint (Pomegranate 319) By Barry M

I love painting my nails like many of the thousands of other girls and ladies out there in the world who do too and it is always a constant hard decision about which nail varnish to choose and what shade to wear!

With all different colours and effects coming out on the market everyday I see nail polish and varnish that I adore a lot and would love to have, but of course I cant buy every single one. So the other day I decided to buy Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Pomegranate 319 because I had heard such good reviews about Gelly Hi-Shine on other bloggers pages and such so I thought why not! 🙂

I love the colour, it is a vibrant pink which comes out looking dark but in natural light it looks very bright and to stop mine chipping I put two coats on because I find that stops nails chipping so easily when you do not have any glossy coats to apply.

I use to dislike Barry M a few years ago because I found their nail varnishes to be quite runny but in the last year I have brought quite a few as they’re becoming a quick favourite of mine! I certainly would wear this shade again as I think it is a great summery hint 🙂

My Favourite Summer/Autumn Trends

So this year there is set to be some really intriguing and adventurous trends to walk the catwalk and pave a pathway into our hearts. With this in mind I have seen some key trends already within magazines such as Vogue and ELLE and I thought that I would mention my favourite picks from this years Summer and Autumn’s trends to come since there are some real fantastic pieces! 🙂

Bare: Nude and bare colours are a big trend this Summer and Autumn, these light hue’s are a perfect season colour for any piece of clothing or accessory especially shoes such as heels and flat pumps and this is because they make your legs look longer, something which many women wish for! So if that sounds like you then grab yourself a pair of nude heels and watch the compliments flow in.

Oriental Infusion: Recently on the catwalk there has been an influx of oriental infused designs and trends sweeping through the fashion world, from china patterns to delicate embroidery and origami cuts, this overall trend is so elegant and colourful it makes a definite favourite for Summer and Autumn.

1920’s: Gatsby has been more than a cinema hit, it has been a worldwide global phenomenon passing the 1920’s style around and capturing the hearts of many. Que the mass of 1920’s flapper dresses, glitzy accessories and an influx of pearls and embroidery!

Geometric: Geometric shapes and cuts are a big trend this year in Summer and Autumn, colourful and bold they make a strong confident statement in pieces of our favourite clothing. Plus they give great shape to all your assets in the best places!

Leather: Leather has been a big trend for a long while now, capturing our attention a couple of months back and still managing to contain our attention leather has been a contagious fashion trend. Leggings, tops and dresses all are some of our favourite pieces which come in leather and one of the best things about the material? It’s figure hugging which means it accentuates your curves and other assets.

Hope you enjoyed! 🙂

Which Colour Nail Varnish Will You Wear This Summer?

Every lady and girl around the globe will know how hard it is to pick just one colour to paint their nails when deciding from a range of colours and styles, it can be hard and stressful to say the least! When I want to choose a nail polish to wear I spend ages eliminating the choices of colours and then spend even longer deciding whether or not I have made the right choice, sometimes it gets to the point where I put a shade on and decide it looks terrible and I should have gone for that beautiful pink rose shade instead of a dull shade of grey and I will take it all off and start again.

So this Summer with a range of new shades being released each week by high street retailers and stores, it’s going to be a tough decision but luckily I am here to help you decide with these top Summer picks!

White: White is a very versatile colour which can be wonderful as a nail varnish, it goes with all outfits and clothing choices and it can look amazing. It’s not really a usual choice when someone comes to paint their nails so this choice although different, will make a great statement and is a personal favourite of mine.

Peach: Peach is a very light and sweet hue that is perfect for Summer and will give you a warm Summer glow.

Blue: Such a vibrant colour and can come in a range of shades such as baby blue, kingfisher blue and cobalt blue. This colour is very strong and bright and will make a great addition to many Summer time outfits.

Red: Always a favourite! There is something risky but fun about wearing red nail varnish, it stands out and makes a statement and can look incredibly stylish and beautiful.

Pink: Whether it be baby pink, pastel pink, powder pink, peachy pink, dark pink…the list of shades are endless which always makes pink a great addition to any outfit!

With these colours in mind, I hope you enjoyed this article! 🙂

Make Up Academy Nail Varnish In Plum Noir Mini Review

My sister gave me this nail polish a while back and at first I was skeptical because I am not a big fan of dark colours, so I left trying it on for a while however yesterday I painted my nails in this shade. Regretfully some of my nails chipped and broke after I had been growing them for so long so it resulted in me filing them down! 😦 So in the photo they look a little short apologies in advance! But anyway I was pleasantly pleased with this nail polish, it only required two coats for maximum shine and colour which is great because I hate nail polishes where I have to apply like 10 coats just to achieve my half desired look…

Adding to the wonderful features of this little pot is the fact it dries quickly! I don’t usually trust nail varnishes that do not state they dry quickly because I presume they’ll take forever, but even though this one doesn’t state it dries quickly it actually does! Miracle! 🙂 The brush makes easy application as well and it’s a handy hand bag size for when you need it in emergencies.

Overall this was an excellent cute nail varnish that surprised me to say the least and it will give you nails that look like they’ve just been freshly picked off the plum tree 😀 well worth a shot! 🙂

4 Things I Really Want This Summer!

Okay so I love Summer just like everyone else, It’s not my favourite season but it’s still a nice season the only two reasons I dislike Summer is because 1. It sometimes gets waaaay to hot and 2. Just because it’s hot everyone thinks it’s an excuse to go out half naked… Anyway I love Summer because it brings out some beautiful fashion trends and I think the sun just makes everything seem a bit better, so without further ado here are 4 things I really want for summer! 🙂

  1. Flower Headband – These are so beautiful  I really adore them so much and I think they look really quite beautiful on any hair colour or length 🙂

  2. A long skirt – Seems a little unspecific but I really want a long skirt to my knees or below, I love skirts and sometimes I prefer longer skirts to shorter ones so this is something I want for Summer as I already have some short ones.

Vintage Clothing? Yes Please! – UpStaged Vintage in Leeds

In the heart of the voluminous and vibrant city of Leeds lies a beautiful shop full to the brim of vintage clothing from the 40’s right through until the late 80’s. I love this shop because of the sense of nostalgia and antique about it! So after emailing they kindly agreed to let me use some of their professional pictures so I could do a review about some of their brilliantly beautiful pieces of clothing! 🙂

I love this American Indian jumper/dress! It’s called the ‘Navaho Design Jumper’ and I love how it looks so inviting and warm, yet comfortable and vintage all at the same time. The patterning is bright and eye catching which is always a great aspect of a popular fashion piece, I also enjoy the thrills at the end and the fact it can be worn both as a dress or a jumper and can be combined with leggings or tights to create the individual look you want.

This next one comes from their 60’s range and is called the ‘Bronze Organza Prom Dress’ and I love it! The patterning and material seem to match perfectly and the colour is perfectly flattering, this is a wonderful choice of dress for anyone looking to accentuate their figure.

Lastly I really do adore this dress it’s so colourful and spontaneous! The dress itself is called ‘Pink and Black Velvet Flock Prom Dress’, personally I love the vibrant patterning and clash of colours that go so well and it goes perfectly with tights and the right pair of shoes! This shop has really impressed me with their vintage and unique range of clothing from the nostalgic era’s and I’m more than pleased to write a review for these fabulous pieces of clothing! I suggest to everyone that they take a look inside their shop before everything sells out! 🙂

Collection 2000 Colour Pout Lip stain Review

I brought this about a week ago in a local beauty store because I was getting fed up of my lipstick not staying all day and I love beautiful vibrant lips!

The shade I got was in Kiss which is like a dark pinkish/natural sort of shade I guess it could be said, I had a tough time picking which one out of the collection was closest to my natural lips and it happened to be this one because my lips are naturally quite dark pink anyway.

So once I got home I excitedly tried it on and found that it was super easy to apply to my lips and wasn’t bulky or thick either like some others. Because it is shaped as if it was a pencil it makes it easy to draw the outline of your lips which is something that most girls dream about! Instead of fussing over smudges or uneven lines or application.
I also love the taste and smell of it as well, sounds pretty weird and I’m not sure if that’s a feature of the product or just me – but something that smells good and doesn’t leave a horrid taste in your mouth if it accidentally gets in there is a win by my standards.

Well anyway with long lasting durability, great easy application and beautiful shade of colours I’d rate this quite highly.

Nail polish review on my top 3 favourites right now!

I love nail polish, I love the range of different colours you can buy and I’m impressed with the different types like glow in the dark or magnetic! Now I always usually keep up with my nails making sure that if they start chipping I either apply another coat or I just take it off all together. I tend to go for nail varnishes that will last a few days if not weeks and I myself tend to go for a range of colours but I always avoid yellow as it’s not a colour I like in the form of nail varnish but everyone’s different! 🙂

So I decided to do a small review of three of my favourite nail polishes:

Nails Inc, London Magnetic Polish in 052 Houses of Parliament.

This was a present from my sister and I love it! The colour is a really classy colour and I love the fact that the top of the lid has a magnet in it so when you hover it above the nail varnish it changes the pattern of it. Durability wise this is great as it lasts a long time around about a week I found and even longer with a clear coat on top! So a definite winner 🙂 I have used it loads of times and the bottle is still full! So this is great for someone who paints their nails loads of times and wants the bottle to last for the price. Only disadvantage is that if you lose the lid then you cant do anything about changing the pattern of it! So be careful.

Barry M Nail Paint in 352 Pink Sapphire Glitter.

I love this nail polish because it’s so glittery and sparkly! Especially in sun! The colour is a mixture of beautiful pieces of glitter in various pink shades and some silver as well. It’s one of my favourites because it goes with so many other nail polishes, especially pink based ones, it goes great as the top coat and creates a really cute look and its easy and fuss free.
Durability wise it last a rather long time which is good because I like my nail varnishes to last a good amount of time and plus with this one it minimizes cracking and chipping of the nails as well – Win!

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in 49 Dahlia .

I love this shade of pink! In the bottle it seems quite dark but on my hands it comes out rather bright and looks so glossy which is why I love it. It’s also very durable and can with stand all the day to day tasks your hands go through which is always a good point with regards to nail polish.
The bottle lasts a long time and the brush is a nice size as well which makes me love this nail varnish even more 🙂

Well that’s my little review on 3 of my favourite nail polishes! Hope you enjoyed 🙂
