I love reading and if you are a fellow book worm then you will love it just as much as me! When it comes to reading, I love to read books that make me think or interest me so deeply that I have trouble putting it down because to me they’re the best kind! 🙂 Going along with that line of thought, I thought that I would compile a mini list of the 5 books I want to read right now and here it goes…
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – I saw the original book a few years ago and to be honest the cover looked a little scary and I will show you why, so the cover I saw was similar to this (posted below) and it was a little girl dancing/holding hands with death (Pretty scary right!) I know you should never judge a book by its cover but this was an exception because it spooked me haha! but now I am older (20 to be exact) I can handle the book, because the trailer to the film looks pretty amazing so my expectations for the book are high.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – I do not know much about this book however the cover is enough to make me want to read it, it’s so appealing and enchanting. I’ve also seen a lot of bloggers review this book and give it good ratings so fingers crossed!
Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer by Katie Alender– This is another book I know very little about however after reading the blurb and some reviews on it on Good Reads website I can see that this may be an interesting read.
Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde by Jeff Guinn – I am a bit of a history nerd, not massively but I have certain aspects of history that I really find interesting like pirates, 19th Century, medicine and of course crime and under that category falls Bonnie and Clyde. I have done lots of research and reading online but there are so many stories and tales and I think this book would be an interesting read.
The Midwife’s Apprentice by Karen Cushman – I found this book whilst searching the Good Reads website and the title firstly grabbed me, I love books that are like biographies or accounts from a persons perspective and I am interested in medicine and healthcare like I already said (I want to be a nurse anyway haha) and reading about a midwife’s apprentice in medieval England.
So I hope you enjoyed my little list of what I am hoping to read soon, if there are any books you’d like to recommend then please comment and let me know 🙂
I was meant to post this yesterday however I had a ton of uni work to do first and then I fell asleep so sorry for posting a day late! But my picture is one I took of my fish, they are white mountain minnows and a zebra danio, the picture isn’t so clear because it was hard as they are so so so tiny! But they’re super cute 🙂
I’ve had pets before but sadly I do not have any photos of them to share 😦 but I’ll always remember them 🙂
Anyway here are my fishies & today’s photo is FLOWERS DAY 5 so that’ll be up tonight 🙂
So I have been seeing a lot of the 30 day photo challenges around lately and after looking at loads I couldn’t find one that suited me so I decided to make my own one up because after all its just for fun anyway! I am starting it tomorrow because I’m too impatient to wait for the 1st of March and plus I want to just get it started, I don’t think it matters if you don’t start on the first anyway 🙂
Feel free to take the challenge from below and do it yourself, I think it’s worth doing just because the keywords are open to interpretation and it’ll be interesting what others come up with but let me know if you do and such so I can see the photo’s!
I’ll be posting my first picture tomorrow! NATURE 🙂
Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having an excellent summer and are making the most of the little bit of sun we are having here in England! For my abroad readers, England is usually very rainy and cold but lately we have had such hot weather which is a lovely change!
I know I have not been blogging as much as I usually would and that’s because I have been rather busy and thus not had the time to blog as much but on the positive side that means I have more to blog about and reviews to post because it has been a while! yay 🙂
So I thought I would start with a skin care post about some items that I have recently brought and review the good and bad points of each of them. So lets start…
Freederm Sensitive Facial Wash For Spot Prone Skin 150ml So when I brought this face wash I had very high expectations because I have always heard such good things about the brand Freederm. So I chose this face wash as I was having a bit of a spot issue! The wash itself is quite nice, definitely not thick in consistence or weight in hand and it also smooths easily over your face which is great.
The face wash itself is pink and looks similar to the hair gel! This face wash is meant to control excess oil and also deeply cleanse pores, I think personally it does work quite well but it’s nothing much different from other facial washes sadly.
Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash Skin Balancing CleanserI actually got this face wash as a freebie with a magazine which I was happy about, it is a brand that is gaining more and more credibility so I was quite happy to get this freebie. The wash states for normal to combination skin and is 98.8% from natural origins which is great for the environment and very naturally healthy for your skin because there are more or less no chemicals or harmful substances in this face wash unlike many other brands. The actual ingredients of the face wash are spruce knot, rice bran oil, frankincense, ylang ylang and grapefruit which is quite a natural mixture of things.
When I tried the wash for the first time it felt quite creamy and personally I hated the smell of it! But I still use it, I believe it works nicely on my skin and just rejuvenates my skin that bit more.
So it has been a while since I have blogged a post in relation to University, so I thought this was a good place to start 🙂 I have officially ended my first year of Uni and I am now home for Summer! I’ll be heading back to University in September for my second year (Fingers crossed I get good first year results!)
So how was my first year overall? It was good & bad but it did teach me a lot, I learnt to cook, clean, DIY, how to survive without TV (no TV license sadly so had to survive by catch up TV on my laptop), how to ignore people that wern’t exactly nice and how to keep up with all the work.
So I thought that I would show you guys my old room in my halls, I lived in 13C and it was a super cute room, very cosy!
